So the BBC has withdrawn its programme about life in Gaza which focused on a young boy who turned out to be the son of a senior Hamas official. In the programme he was given a fake family. Also turns out one of the cameraman celebrated the October 7th massacres on Social media.

Do you still trust the BBC or has its reputation for impartiality taken too many blows ?

I used to listen to Radio 4 every day up to about fifteen years ago but haven’t listened to or watched the BBC since then.

It used to be quality but underwent a marked shift to the Left.

The only reason I’d watch the BBC is if I wanted to know what the Blob wanted us to think.

Otherwise it’s just a load of parochial Leftist drivel.

What the BBC needs to understand is that in general, the less impartial it appears to be (whether in respect of issues supported by man or few), the greater that demands for defunding will occur.

The BBC therefore has a responsibility to itself to forsake today's headline for tomorrow's future because without central funding, it will cease to exist.

I'm deeply disappointed in the whole saga.

From the time it took to acknowledge to the time taken for corrective action.

Now the heat has been turned up with events today, they have taken it down to conduct further due diligence with the production company, whilst saying the production team had full editorial control of filming the son of a Hamas deputy minister of agriculture.

Those last 2 statements, regardless of what your opinions are on the subject matter should be alarming to hear from our national broadcaster.

The cnn video of the four deceased hostages including two children the Red Cross was deeply disturbing. Crowd's came out for the handover with accompanying music playing.

Israel now claiming that the children were murdered by hand ( not cut or shot) and the mothers body parts include that of a Gazan.

Ooft! An Hamas terrorist in charge of agriculture you say. he sound really freekin dangerous!.

The BBC has been accused of pro Israel bias, including a guy "Raffi berg" (I think his name is ) working for the BBC with both mosad and CIA links who's some sort of editor.

I'm not really a fan of the BBC btw due to it extortionate licence fee and obligory payments bit yep it's lack of openess here is concerning though I'm more concerned about its covering up of paedophiles including the pay and pension arrangements with the likes of hue Edwards than this exposé.

An FoI has revealed that Huw Edwards has still not repaid the £200k the BBC has demanded back. And then I read that its DEI director is on a base salary of £267k. Defund the BBC.

The perception of the position on the political spectrum of another entity conforms to Einstein's law of Relativity. The BBC'S shift to the left is very likely a result of your shift to the right.

The way they have conducted themselves in this matter is appalling.

I can see no excuse for not completing due diligence on every item they broadcast, that is what they are supposed to do as a matter of upholding professional standards that they take tax payers money for.

side note; I didn't say;

"An Hamas terrorist in charge of agriculture you say".

However that is a good summary of the situation and why the BBC is accused of bias.

Any Hamas Minister is by definition a supporter of terrorism such as the massacres of October 7th.

Can you seriously imagine the BBC making a documentary featuring the son of an Israeli Govt Minister without making this clear ?!

The pro Hamas and anti Israel bias is baked into much of the BBC.

The BBC hasn't handled this very well and should have done it's due diligence before showing the program. The BBC does try too hard be impartial and ends up ties it's self in knots and upsetting both sides. The problem most news sites have these days is most people can and do get their news from places that just agree with their existing view point. I personally try and get my news from multiple places including places I think politically are against what I stand for.

UN relief organisation employed Hamas too

Reported a year+ ago 75% Palestinians supported the Hamas attacks characterised by them cheering in the streets while Israeli women were being butchered

When the rest of retrievable hostages are out Israel will burn Gaza to the ground

? Is that an expression of opinion or are you claiming it as fact about the BBC bias?

Raffi Berg is a Jewish middle east editor who's also accused of having links with mossad and the CIA.

It is an accusation that is going to have a footing in the truth, if this is how they have aired documentaries.

To then follow it up with a number of excuses, including the production team had full editorial control, them taking days to remove it after the facts came out and finally saying they needed to conduct due diligence with the production team, is inexcusable.

It is excuse after excuse, which as I said will fuel or prove the accusation of Hamas bias.

The fact that one person thinks the bbc is pro Isreal and another thinks pro hamas show the problem with the bbc in the current time. The bbc tries so hard to be impartial, trying giving every equal merit, that it pleases no one and often looks ridiculous. I as I said earlier the ability to just get your news from places that agree with what you think doesn't make the bbc's job any easier.

How terrible of Hamas to knowingly put in the remains of another woman in that coffin, saying it was the mother of those two young boys.

And the thousands of gazans that came out in celebration to see Hamas hand them over. The bbc wouldn’t show that filming.

The handovers are awful! I thought it was bad enough that they parade hostages before release, but the handover of deceased children in coffins with a poorly drawn image of Netanyahu with fangs and blood was disturbing.

There also seems to be a lack of discipline amongst Hamas involved in the handover, pushing and pulling each other.

To be fair, they are a bunch of blood thirsty terrorists, following a violent, religious ideology, what makes you think they'd be more disciplined? They are, as the poster above says, savages,

They are putting themselves on a world stage, I would expect that to sharpen them up, it doesn't.

Surely it's not those who are making the news programme, it's much more about the people in the news that counts.

It's just another example of Hamas lying to push their narrative, something they've done lots of and the media have been complicit in this with them, shocking,

Mrs x
