" ukraine are not in a position to demand anything in talks, you may not like it but they are losing, they can fight on and keep losing more and more men but its not going to change the fact they never were going to come out of this on top. Should of taken the deal that was offerd 3years ago and not listend to boris "honest" johnson and senile joe, as always in war in the losing position you really dont have much negotiating power | |||

" To put it into football terms. This game could go to extra time and penalties. At the moment the Trump team have just kicked off and passed back to the keeper. The forwards are in the centre circle jostling for position. Plenty of time and a lot of ups and downs to come. | |||

Reap what you sow. " The pattern is always the same. Iraq. Afghanistan. Libya. Syria. Now Ukraine. Something kicks off somewhere. The US backed by its UK and EU lapdogs declares the problem to be an existential fight between good and evil, one party is “another Hitler”, if we don’t get involved World War Three will break out. Things get bogged down, it’s not as simple as in the movies. The US government and electorate gets bored and moves on. The UK and EU end up looking stupid. Just amazes me that anyone is surprised by what’s happening. Maybe they should stop watching the BBC. | |||

Reap what you sow. " Yes but also on the subject of "reap what you sow" This whole shit show started in November 2013 with what was known as the "Maidan" revolution. Egged on by the EU (I can remember Guy Verhofstadt and the ridiculous Kathy Ashton rabble rousing in Kyiv promising all sorts of goodies including EU membership) the pro Russian Yanukovych was deposed and within weeks (surprise surprise) Moscow annexed the Crimea. That little series of events has been well and truly swept under the Brussels carpet. Yes, reap what you sow. | |||

I would agree that he has showed up the weakness in western Europe but not sure about buying time. If anything he has wasted 3 years, sacrificed a million troops, lost incalculable amounts of equipment, caused NATO to expand (Sweden/Finland) and given the west a wake up call. When it comes to buying time he's worse than Man Utd at buying players. | |||

I meant when I said buying time that he delayed by bluster and threats the kit they should have been given and trained upon as soon as he invaded when the situation allowed..
He cares not about lives,he's kept the middle class kids in Moscow and St Petersburg etc far away and used the outer reaches of the union plus Mercs and the Koreans as fodder, standard old school soviet doctrine..
And yes, strategically from a defence capacity kit wise they are weak but they are re arming and developing at a much faster rate which to my mind says he still thinks he can advance west..
We the west need to up our game, better to be prepared and have the resources than the other options should we need them.. | |||
