They both owned a medium to promote their political idealogy.

I've just started watching "Mussolini: Son of the Century" on Sky. I have no idea if there are other similarities yet

Mussolini rode a bicycle which was an early version of the Tesla. Hitler also invented a car (the VW) so it all fits when you think about it.

Ferdinand Porsche *designed* the Beetle. The idea of making it came from Hitler.

Musk likes rockets; Hitler liked rockets. That should be enough evidence for anyone.

We don't honestly believe men like Musk hold more power than monarchies that have literal governments and armed forces swearing allegiance to them.

Dystopia literature has always predicted the rise of the corporation over elected governments. It is becoming more likely that the near future will see more and more technology oligarchs exercising power over what could be "puppet" governments. The shortage of resources such as rare earth's or Helium 3 may see military force being threatened or yse to acquire these fir their "business" partners. Trump/Musk seem to be ahead of the curve at the moment but Putin and hus oligarchs are not far behind. Scary times ahead.

In January - students protesting against Elon Musk's extremism have hung him in effigy in Milan's Piazzale Loreto, stringing up a fake [ naked] body upside down in an imitation of the hanging of Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini's corpse in the very same square in 1945.

The slide in to Authoritarian rule under DJT is probably inevitable. The president of the most powerful country in the world has made clear that he wants to use the levers of power at his disposal for his own personal and political gain.

Trump has already weaponised the administration to persecute his political opponents. He has engaged in a vendetta against DoJ agents who worked on cases against him.

He will likely erode the norm of a nonpartisan military and deploy active-duty troops for domestic policing purposes. In his campaign trail he continued to toy with the idea of deploying troops against American citizens.

Trump will use the coercive powers of the state to restrict civil society. He has called for television networks such as CBS, ABC, and NBC to be stripped of their broadcast licenses after they aired unfavorable reports of him. He also promised to bring the Federal Communications Commission, which regulates such licenses, “back under presidential authority as the Constitution demands.” During his campaign, Trump discussed at least twice “scenarios” for jailing journalists in the course of leak investigations.

He will sideline institutions seeking to check his power.

DJT uses sensational announcements like his Gaza plan to distract from the hatchet job his henchman “Elon” is doing federal agencies that were set up by congress.

I would not at all be surprised if there was some manufactured crisis that would prevent the midterms from happening…. Let alone a Presidential election in under 4 years time. Some of his lackeys are attempting to change the 14 amendment of the constitution so he can serve more than two terms.

All of this is straight out of the dictator’s playbook.

Whilst you get what you voted for. I’m not sure that many Americans really want their democracy erased.

Whilst dystopian literature is fiction about an Authoritarian American dictator. We might just be witnessing life imitating art.
