Just a few examples..

Trade - standby for being forced into accepting chlorinated chicken. Tariffs on our exports to USA and being forced into shitty trade deals we can’t refuse because of Brexit

Elon Musk disrupting the international political arena with social media (already happening) for right wing political gain and corporate benefit.

Dropping support to Ukraine because Trumps net worth is based on borrowed Russian and Chinese money. He’s a puppet. Putin will tell him what to do. Those poor Ukrainians are fucked. That affects us.

US Corporations and Insurers increasing the campaigns to drive privatised healthcare into UK

I’m amused by the apparent belief that ‘God’ somehow views America as his favourite country, better than the rest.

If there is an almighty sky-turnip, I’m pretty sure he didn’t create the earth with political man-made borders in place, and a favouring of some nations over others.

God fearing, peace loving, trade loving, war monger. Waaaay out of his depth even the crowd were grimacing. I'm sure Jinping is going to hand over the canal, unless they have agreed a swap involving Taiwan.

His comment about defending others borders - it is the best place to defend your own, what a dimwit does he not know that.

Tariffs and taxes that are paid by the supplier, ueah sure they will. Renamed the Gulf of Mexico, well here's another the United States of North Korea, yep that's what it'll feel like in the US. With policies like this little rocket man in North Korea will have more friends globally than Tango man.

I feel for friends and customers I know in the US, for they and others there is a bitter financial pill to swallow. The US to be a manufacturing nation again, that'll only happen if it drops it wages and I don't see that happening, so it looks like subsidised US products that are too expensive to sell outside the US. So it's not a case of 'drill baby, drill' more like 'inflation baby, inflation' His speech will need to deliver otherwise he will look weak compared to Putin and Jinping. Its going to be one hell of ride, and the roller coaster is not going to stop for the next 4 years.

I guess Trump will be increasing the rates at his hotels to gain more from secret service stays and in bribes from foreign countries looking for mutually beneficial transactions.

Trump has either dismissed, commuted, or pardoned every single person jailed in relation to January 6th….

Including the leader or the oath keepers, and the leader of the proud boys, and everyone involved in violence, and assaulting members of the police….

Of course it was. A lovely warm gesture to the audience, twice.

You’re defending a ‘Roman’ salute."

You are clutching at straws in the hope that it sticks. The problem you now have is this type of attack is ignored by Trump for what it is.

You can live in hope, the rest of us will accept his gesture for what it was hand on heart and arm outstretched in a way to say thank you to members of the audience.

Do you think Elon is smart enough to understand the optics of that salute (in which case it was on purpose), or is he completely thick and unsuitable for his position? Because there’s no middle ground here.

I agree there is no middle ground, but I also consider there is no grounds for saying he was deliberately making a nazi salute.

Take a moment to watch his whole speech, he was overly excited bouncing around the stage and was driven by emotion.

If you put things into perspective you will find the answer. Being angry tends to a cause defocusing on the whole, and to encourage a focus on an extreme to fuel the anger, it is not rational.

However, who knows, maybe I'm giving him more credit than he deserves and it is me that is not looking for hidden messages in plain sight in the hope I can find the inner demon.

This is the part I think you are struggling with.

If I'm excited I might have thrown my hand out towards somebody in that way, but I wouldn't know as it wouldn't have been a conscious action.

Look at the end of the day if you think Musk was giving out nazi salutes at the inauguration of President Trump, who am I to say you are wrong, you see what you see.

How about you, always in control and never get excited? Never thrown your hands over your face, never turned to someone as you a point a hand or finger in the direction of your disbelief.

"Anyway… looks like Trump saved what probably is going to be the most controversial executive order for last.. not mentioned in any of his speeches, waiting till after the network evening news programs and everyone watching the college national football championship game

Trump has either dismissed, commuted, or pardoned every single person jailed in relation to January 6th….

Including the leader or the oath keepers, and the leader of the proud boys, and everyone involved in violence, and assaulting members of the police….

Didn’t Biden pardon 5 members of his family for something like 10 years moments before trump was sworn in?

What reason would someone have for doing that?

Genuine question. "

Because trump as said in the past that he would go after a lot of people in retribution

Remember the vengeance list Trump said he would go after…

I knew someone would bring up the 5, and to be honest it could look bad in isolation and to be honest I don’t think he needed to… but in context look at who else is covered under that pardon.. the likes of Liz Cheney, Adam schiff, Bennie Thompson, Alexander vindman, Michael fanone, and the list goes on…

The common denominator… those people all involved in one way either with the impeachments of Ukraine, or January 6th… committee members, outspoken campaigners, those who took the stand as witnesses

If we can’t categorically say it *was* the salute, then we also can’t categorically say it *wasn’t* either. None of us know what the idiot was thinking in that moment.

If you look at Musk in many situations he is awkward in his posture and how he responds. Excited is not a good look for him, lets be honest.

No. Nobody can. The attempts to defend it on social media are amusing, they can’t even decide if it was excitement (accidental) a ‘Roman salute’ or the thing about his heart. So much pedalling around to forgive the horrendous optics.

I can't recall because it probably wasn't blown out of all proportion...

Let's put some context around this, he made the gesture to the crowds in front of him and behind him, with the words my heart goes out to you.

just before that he ran onto the platform throwing his hands in the air, straight up and at awkward angles.
