The Home Secretary has announced 5 new local Inquiries into the child r@pe gangs and the cover ups into these henious crimes.

Would certainly not have happened without the publicity caused by Elon Musk in recent weeks.

Is Musk now Britain's Unofficial Opposition Leader ?

Wasn't it a national enquiry that was asked for and focused on the grooming gang scandal. This seems to be a series of local enquiries. That said it is welcome that they are going to do something

Labour had already committed to a local enquies in both Oldham and Rochdale had given them the go ahead to start whenever they wished….

They have just stretched local enquiries the same parameters to 3 other areas… so 5 in total

We certainly need a national inquiry after watching Khan deliberately swerving questions on grooming gangs in London to the point of asking for a definition of a grooming gang! After he was given a clear definition he continued to avoid answering question.

He should be ashamed of himself.

It's naïve to think anything good will come from these new enquiries. The REAL reasons will get swept under the carpet for political expediency, and the blame placed on the Police, CPS, Social Services. We'll end up with wish washy conclusions and a pledge to 'learn lessons' (they won't be). All that at a cost to the taxpayer of £millions.

I wonder why this story is not being picked up by MSM.

As with all the scandals..

Fucks sake we sent men to watch nuclear testing wearing shorts then covered it up..

Every scandal has a common theme, it never affects those in power (the elite, the establishment) ..

Yet us plebs continue to eagerly swallow the division tactics and row amongst ourselves..

We literally get what we deserve..

Let's see. It's hard not to be sceptical when the Labour Mayor of London needs the word 'grooming' defined to him. To me, it suggests entrenched positions by the powerful who want to protect their interest at all costs. So some hapless Police Constable and a part-time Social Worker will carry the can.

Because you are referring to personal qualities 'crazy bat shit' rather than engaging with the rights or wrongs or an opinions. Personal does not have to mean first person.

Sentencing has taken place today of 8 men from Keighley, Yorkshire for multiple sexual offences against 2 children between 1996 and 1999.

I will leave my thoughts out of this for now, but would like to understand others thoughts on the crime v sentencing and wording from not only the police but the cps.

It's called being acceptable, councils know, police know etc ... don't care, or if they do, get warned off.

With regard to the grooming scandals and the complicity of the government and local councils in the cover up, Tommy Robinson has done a great documentary that exposes it all. And he is currently in prison because of it. I think that personally he is quite a loathsome person but his journalistic efforts but the mainstream media to shame. And musk has mentioned him in several posts regarding the grooming gangs.

This is a total fudge and will not achieve anything. Labour are just trying to look like they are doing something when actually they are not doing anything.

Have a look on twitter. You can find a list of convicted councillors - it won’t come as a surprise that the vast majority (nearly all) are Labour Councillors.

Labour say they want to protect women/girls but it appears that it depends on who those women/girls are…..

Insulting someone is against the rules and can mean short bans from posting. I would not ban anyone for "abusing" someone else's views but would eg if I called you bat shit crazy = ban, I call your views bat shit crazy, no ban.

I'm pointing out I didn't call anyone's views bat shit crazy. I'm defending the right of a person to say the lefties or the righties have bat shit crazy views.

You would be correct, the air would be blue.

The Yorkshire police press release is pathetic, "we welcome these sentences", when you see the shortest length it just doesn't make sense to say that.

They also quietly noted 2 of the gang are nowhere to be found, but don't worry we have raised a warrant. They have let 2 of them vanish.

I can't believe there is pushback on a national inquiry, if it is this poor in Yorkshire today in sentencing, not knowing who and where these animals are, and Khan not openly acknowledging the definition of grooming gangs! How bad is it in other areas..

Air... blue... MY reaction.

Sentencing should be maximum to send out a message, but far too often perps get the softer option. This is historical. IMO it has to make you think whether these damn judges are perps also!

Khan not confirming what grooming gangs mean maybe a get out clause for some areas including London. Each area could have its own definition and come to different conclusions on identical cases. Perhaps if not a full national enquiry then a national set of rules and definitions, would help, assuming that is not already in place

It's still confusing, as even terms like terrorist have no internationally fully agreed definitions.

It thus isn't helpful when agitators from the USA, don't potentially speak the same language as we do.

National enquiry would mean people a legally obliged to give evidence, plus this local enquiry is not only just for 5 councils out of a lot more that need investigating.

Plus councils can "mark their own homework" and cover up.

It's a waste of money

Good point about a national enquiry means people have to give evidence and maybe that's a reason why the government are not so keen on the idea
