Problem is, most politicians are career Middle Managers- they have no real world experience of getting stuff done and getting stuff to actually work. They just know how to take the credit and pass the buck so when they do actually have to get stuff done they get found out

Politics is attracting the wrong type of person - mostly political activists straight from Uni via some 'research' posts in their selected party. Few have 'real life' experience of any kind. The problem is that, a handful of Fabbers apart, few people have any interest in politics despite it's importance to our lives.

We build systems to underpin our civilisation like a spider-web.

The merest ripple on one part of the web peturbs throughout the whole web.

We build our systems in this way because it's what we know and it "feels right".

But is that the correct way ? Are there better ways ?

I would argue that those who build the systems build them for their own self aggrandisement and not for the population as a whole. As such, the infrastructure is biased from the very start and doomed never to serve all of the whole.

Until we stop voting for our own needs and desires and start voting for those less fortunate, we'll never move forward. A rising tide lifts all boats, as they say.
