Police in Sussex are investigating more than 200 preventable deaths and injuries at an NHS Trust. Not long after revelations about unnecessary and damaging surgery on many children at Great Ormond Street. Both cases appear to involve senior Surgeons doing appalling work with no safeguards.

Perhaps we didn't clap hard enough? 🤷‍♂️

I have just read the story, if the reporting is correct one of the surgeons is still operating today, because his outcomes were within the expected national range! 2 things jump off the page, either the national range is shockingly poor, or nobody really cares if a surgeon gets it wrong... Surely it isn't the type of job that allows you to say Fred and Jane killed 4 so I'm doing great with my 2 botch jobs...

Imagine reading this story as you wait for your op and that surgeon appears.

How meany would have past away anyway is one consideration.

And how meany did not make hart transplantation befor the first one was successful.

So this then leads me to thinking would you Personly agree to a procedure that might save your life and what would the odds need to be.

It's been going on for several years, the investigation..

Funny enough some of those who whistle blew were sanctioned by the trust FFS..

Same as we've seen in several trusts in relation to maternity units..

I've recently treated for a life threatening illness.

The odds of the treatment being a success are 90%, thats good enough for me.

5% would have been good enough for me.
