"She's been a bit of a disaster in that role, giving the rail unions their pay rise with no concessions from their side. That said I don't think a minor conviction should stop anyone becoming an MP or Minister. We all make mistakes in life, especially when young. " There have been more Labour MP’s imprisoned for expenses fraud than any other party.

"It must have been a long time ago, the police around here haven’t been doing anything more than giving you a crime number for the insurance claim for years. " It was a work phone supplied by her employer so I doubt she could claim on the insurance

"I think this is a blessing in disguise for Starmer, it’s broken up the the socialist gang at his top table. A little too late for the tax payer though…." No....he will still have to balance the wishes of the left.

"The UK’s Transport Secretary Louise Haigh has resigned ..." The Radio 4 presenter announcing this earlier today said that neither her statement or the response from SKS mentioned the word "resigned".

""Lawbreakers can't be lawmakers" Sir Kier Starmer. I actually don't agree with that but it shows the problem with presenting yourself as Mr Clean, you're really setting yourself up to fail."

"It seems she lied about the age when she was 'mugged' (said she was 24 when actually older) and lied when she claimed to be the youngest ever female cabinet Minister. The new Govt certainly has an interesting approach to facts !" She said she was 24 but from my calculations, she was 25, possibly 26. You'd think it would be fairly important from someone in her position to get the facts right, no?

Do try and keep up, these are Government ‘facts’, you need to look at the weather forecast to see which way the wind is blowing in order to know what the ‘facts’ are today.

"The UK’s Transport Secretary Louise Haigh has resigned, after the media uncovered that she was convicted of misleading the police over the alleged theft of her mobile phone. She claims that she didn’t realise the phone was still in her house, and hadn’t been taken. Doesn’t sound particularly believable, but she was convicted anyway. But why did Starmer appoint a convicted criminal to this important role? " ...this is small potatoes...the USA just elected a convicted criminal to the office of president

US GDP per capita up 70% since 2008. UK and EU GDP per capita broadly stagnant over the same period. The differential is going to increase massively over the next four years. The UK and EU either need to start learning from other countries or die.

"She hasn't been the most stable of ministers...The near own goal she scored encouraging people to boycott P&O ferries, just as the owners of, P&O, DP world were about to announce an £1 Billion investment in London Gateway port.. Starmer needed to publicly distance himself and the government from her remarks. There was also the letter she signed from ministers complaining about forthcoming cuts to departments ahead of the budget. And now some work of fantasy involving a mugging, a phone being turned on that came to the attention of the police, and Starmer accepting Haigh's resignation after "further information" emerged... The plane, the plane boss." Reading a recent update on this story, it has been suggested the police became suspicious of the photo she submitted of the lost phone, the metadata indicated the photo was taken after the alleged mugging was reported.
