Excuse me.

Unrelated from passing wind, who is bothered about American politics? Who is having a melt down? Who is amused? Who doesn’t care?

Will it affect my sex party?

Trump is actually very knowledgeable. A lot of the shit happened during Bidens watch. As a world superpower America has the power to step in and avoid conflicts and smooth waters in others. Biden set the stage by pulling troops out from abroad. It will be interesting to see how Trump deals with Russia and the Ukrainian war ...

This thread should be in the politics forum really though.

Irrespective of whether any politician who ends up in a race to office says anything or nothing worth writing home about or not, they are simply puppets. The public face of the decisions made by the shadowy elite as they decide how to make more money and seize more power. And they didn't get there because they'll actually make any kind of difference. They would never have made it if they weren't towing the line. It's all about which flavour of poison you prefer but it's still poison.

If he was anything different, he'd have been bumped off long before now.

PS, insert whichever "democratic" country you prefer into this, they're all the same.

A choice between two or three carefully selected puppets designed to test the mood of the nation.

Love it and I hope he gets tripartition of power too, which will make him invincible in the US, he already has 2 out of the 3. I really hope Starmers ball bag is rattling in fear. Starmers got to deal with Trumps legal complaint against him yet, good luck with that. Hope Trump rips Labour to pieces over the next 4 years.

Whether America has made the right choice will be up for debate for years.

Having said that having a president who will enter in to office withl a vindictive personality and wants to settle scores doesn’t bode well for those who have previously opposed him regardless of party affiliation's.

I feel this reflects more on his supporters and those who emboldened this behaviour and shows their true personality.

Should politicians really insult and name call rather than debate policies?

Please inform yourself about the real circumstances of "Biden's" withdrawal from Afghanistan. This was set up by Trump. Biden did what he could but, with the US troop numbers being reduced below a viable level in the last weeks of Trump's first presidency, it was a shit show fait acomplis.

Trump will tell Ukraine to hand over all the land, including Crimea, to Russia. He will withdraw the USA's military and financial support for Ukraine within hours of taking office. Russia will roll up to the old soviet borders. The safety of Europe will then be in the hands of the EU alone as Trump withdraws the USA from NATO.

No they should not but it is what they do because it is what their followers want to hear. They just want their orange man to stick it to the Democrat prick accross the street.

The whole world has now become far, far, more unstable overnight because of mindless zenophobia of uneducated, parochial, Americans.

A major war in Europe is now very likely on the cards. It has already started in the Ukraine. Russia, China, India, and North Korea will seek to recreate the USSR on steroids; with Trump's full support.

There are no guard rails now. The USA's millitias like the "Proud boys", their members released from prison within days of Trump taking office, will roam the streets of the USA seeking "the enemy within and those poisioning the blood of America". God help those who provided witness to Jan 6th 2021.

Like the Sturmabteilung who went before them Trump's millitia and DOJ will hunt down those that did not bend the knee to Trump. No Law enforcement group will stop these "good people" as they go about their sanctioned task. The future is very dark for us all.

Tbh, what I have learnt about trump is to ignore what he says, 90 % of it is BS and nonsense, he won’t be deporting millions of immigrants etc etc, he just says things to excite his followers. I predict he will do 2 years then retire after playing golf every day

Couple of points.

1. Remember what happened last time Trump was president with Musk at his side?

2. Trump doesn't understand climate science. Thinks it's not real. So he'll likely not be good on the environment.

3. He expanded fossil fuels usage, and promoted misinformation about "clean coal".

It’s great news, particularly for the UK as Trump is a fan, provided idiots like Lammy don’t fuck things up.

Stroke of genius bringing in RFK Jr and Shanahan, and I’m hopeful they will do some good stuff on health.

He’ll need to get the border sorted but at least he’ll try, unlike Biden and Harris.

Under Harris as President there was a major risk we would be heading for World War 3, she was such a corporate and military puppet. Major donations to her campaign from many big corporations who would have expected something in return.

Also interesting to see what Musk does about slashing government waste. Might be a blueprint for what the UK has to do after five more years of Labour waste.

My guess is that in four years time Americans generally will be wealthier. In four years time Britons generally will be poorer (a pattern that has been going on for decades).

Why does that make him a better choice than the other candidates who don't sexually abuse women?

Yes and it’s going to get worse. I’m already way worse off than I was two months ago.

The average Brit is £10,200 poorer than they were in 2010

Yes and it’s going to get worse. I’m already way worse off than I was two months ago.

"Great news! 🇺🇸

Unless you're a woman, or an ordinary American, or understand climate change. But especially good news if you're a billion living in America. they have turned there back on the the left and the climate will be better under musk who is doing more for the planet than him lol

Couple of points.

1. Remember what happened last time Trump was president with Musk at his side?

2. Trump doesn't understand climate science. Thinks it's not real. So he'll likely not be good on the environment.

3. He expanded fossil fuels usage, and promoted misinformation about "clean coal".he didn’t have musk by his side then he will frack America great again with musk solar will be huge

Last time Musk walked away because Trump trampled all over the climate and the local environment to make sure the oil and coal industry profits were prioritised.

Trump and musk will have fallen out within 12 months and you will know with all yr connections then lol

They did last time, tbh, it has zero effect on me, I llive in the UK not the USA "

"Whether America has made the right choice will be up for debate for years.

Oh my such paranoia, can you name any person he was vindictive he was against during his last term?

Yeah seek help you have been brain washed out of reality.

"Irrespective of whether any politician who ends up in a race to office says anything or nothing worth writing home about or not, they are simply puppets.

A choice between two or three carefully selected puppets designed to test the mood of the nation."

Well he did it. Trump now has been gifted the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Administration (including the DOJ) and his puppets on SCOTUS. There is nothing now standing in his way as he makes America great again.

So we now stand and watch to see how much time he commits to the plethora of promises he made, including, but not limited to, being a dictator on day 1.

He refused aid for California for the wildfires “ they didn’t vote for me”

He refused initial aid for Pueto Rico after storms “ They are not Americans”

He had the DOJ send Cohen back to prison after Cohen spoke out about him. His Supreme Court blocked Cohens appeal on this vindictive act against generally accepted precedent.

He wanted to prosecute Hilary Clinton but was persuaded not to, by the grown ups in the room.

Remember he had a moderate team last time. They have all gone now, shouting he’s dangerous,. This includes his defence chiefs.

This time he has immunity given to him by an openly corrupt supreme court.

There are plans to appoint upwards of 34 right wing, lifetime appointed, federal judges in the mould of Ilene Cannon.

Moderate judges including Republicans have severely limited the gerrymandering of voting districts to exclude influence by black voters. The intentional changes of the judiciary to MAGA ( not Republican) will stop any legal routes to challenge illegal behaviour by local officials acting on Trumps behalf.

Don’t even start on women's rights. That’s definitely real suppression and definitely not for snowflakes. Women are dying and children being forced to give birth. WTF

Add to this ,sex offender, tax evader, multiple bankruptcies taking many smaller firms with him.

The family grifting money.

I think we all should be very concerned. Well apart from his very wealthy backers. Oligarchy anyone?

Don’t think he’s any friend of the U.K . He doesn’t give a fuck about us.

I do agree with HuffPost

They state, America has got the President they deserve.

Misogyny and racism are endemic in the US. Their extreme capitalism aligned with rampant corruption has led to a great swathes of the population being poorly educated and chronically unhealthy due to lack of resources. Some of that education provided is frankly medieval. Women and young girls are now second class citizens and the fanatical church goers will push hard for national bans on abortion no matter how bad the situation. ( six states have extended rights in this election)

The fact Americans are so insular also leads them to believe the crap pushed at them, that they are the best country in the world and have very little interest or care for any other country.

They can barely scrape together a society that cares about each other, so the rest of the world can sod off.

Their population could not care less about trading with us. Yes the economists know the reality but not the populous.

Keep the people stupid or miss informed and you can keep power. Turkeys voting for Christmas comes to mind.

Such an amazing country which was the beacon on the hill but it’s now rapidly devouring itself. Having a rambling nasty old selfish git in charge will just hasten that fall.

"Love it and I hope he gets tripartition of power too, which will make him invincible in the US, he already has 2 out of the 3. I really hope Starmers ball bag is rattling in fear. Starmers got to deal with Trumps legal complaint against him yet, good luck with that. Hope Trump rips Labour to pieces over the next 4 years.

I don’t think so, it will be fine, there are only 2 ways to deal with what trump says he will do, laugh or ignore him, he is all talk, most of it is bullshit

He’s been elected now with a massive mandate from the US electorate.

Deal with it.

Exactly, it will be fine, he is very old and feeble so I just want him to rest up with his family and play golf in his final years.

"Whether America has made the right choice will be up for debate for years.

Oh my such paranoia, can you name any person he was vindictive he was against during his last term?

Yeah seek help you have been brain washed out of reality.

All you snow flakes will be fine

"

Have you considered why the Democrats didn’t win, despite all the criticisms against Trump?

US citizens clearly expressed a preference for policies that meet their own priorities, not ours or those of other countries.

They want less spending on overseas wars and tighter controls on illegal immigration, including deportation of people in the country illegally. They want better control of inflation and a reduction in high living costs, voters want an economy that works better for them and fewer tax $$$ going to foreign problems. This isn’t them being selfish it’s about self preservation and stability.

The Democrats failed because they assumed that just being “not Trump” was enough. They attacked him on a personal level, and that deepened divisions. It’s ironic that many on the left who criticise Trump for his language and disregard for others seem to feel justified using the same inflammatory language themselves about him, it really is polarising the debate to the point of them and us, bad as each other, but that doesn't register if you are against Trump.

I have read excuse after excuse as to why the Democrats lost, uneducated US citizens, sexist, racist etc.... Rather than blaming voters, perhaps Democrats should reflect on their strategy and performance. If Trump is as dangerous as many claim, then the responsibility for preventing his return lies clearly with the Democrats by offering solid, unifying policies to the American public, not just criticisms and excuses.

What percentage of the US population do you consider uneducated,"

I don't consider them uneducated.

If people don't know what science is. That means they're uneducated.

I don't have figures on how many Americans are uneducated.

What "claim"?

I was pretty clear with my post. It's along the similar lines of the questions you were asking me about the 40% of Americans that think the earth is 6000 years old.

What percentage of the US population do you consider uneducated,

I don't consider them uneducated.

If people don't know what science is. That means they're uneducated.

and what measure are you using to arrive at that figure?

I don't have figures on how many Americans are uneducated.

I’d be interested in understanding the basis of this claim...

What "claim"?

I was pretty clear with my post. It's along the similar lines of the questions you were asking me about the 40% of Americans that think the earth is 6000 years old."

If you don’t actually believe a large portion of the US public is uneducated, do you think it’s fair to keep posting that claim?

Also, your point about 40% of Americans believing the Earth is 6,000 years old wasn’t entirely clear. You didn’t explain why you see that belief as evidence of being uneducated. Are you hesitant to associate it with Christian teachings from the Bible? As far as I know, the idea of a 6,000 year old Earth stems mainly from bible.

My point is about rejecting/not understanding/being ignorant of what science is.

This is just an easy example. I have no opinion or comment on religion in this context.

"Whether America has made the right choice will be up for debate for years.

Oh my such paranoia, can you name any person he was vindictive he was against during his last term?

Yeah seek help you have been brain washed out of reality.

All you snow flakes will be fine

They lost because of the economy, the number 1 reason. "

The economy was a major factor, but the Democrats failed to offer a unifying alternative that addressed many other concerns such as security and governance. They focused purely on being better than Trump, they failed the party and the country.

They lost because of the economy, the number 1 reason.

The economy was a major factor, but the Democrats failed to offer a unifying alternative that addressed many other concerns such as security and governance. They focused purely on being better than Trump, they failed the party and the country."

It was all about the economy

"

It was all about the economy "

----------------------

Not entirely true, in my opinion it was due to a combination of contributing factors;

1. Harris's association to Biden. She was unable/unwilling to distance her political thinking from Biden's.

2. Trump had greater traction with Hispanic and conservative black voters who tend to subscribe to patriarchal doctrines. The fact Harris is black had less traction with these communities than the negative implications of her being female.

3. She was late to the party.

4. Trumps fear agenda appealed to voters who had concerns (real or otherwise) about immigration, the cost of living etc.

The Democrats are in a similar position to the Conservative Party... They need to reconnect with their core values, truly understand what people want and need, and stop being so dismissive of national concerns.

They put themselves on a pedestal of righteousness which alienated voters.

It alienated voters because it was a philosophy none of them believed in and few lived to.

I'm no fan of Thatcher's or Reagan's but at least they could articulate their principles coherently and convince the public they actually believed in them.

As you mentioned earlier Harris hadn’t got one policy that she could talk about that wasn’t what Biden led with.

What a strange way to approach an election and electorate that had clearly lost faith in Biden, I’m not going to change a thing….

I don't necessarily disagree, there might also have been some complacency in believing Trump would have reduced credibility with voters particularly since the 6th Jan debacle and court cases.

Exactly that, the Democrats believed they could win by simply saying they were not Trump, and that would be enough.

They lost sight of the mood of the people, they attacked Trump and his followers with the same language they argued was why Trump shouldn’t be taken seriously, and wheeled out celebs who banged the drum for women to vote and not tell their husbands who they voted for, totally isolating male voters and in my opinion treating women as though they couldn’t think for themselves…

It was a car crash election campaign.

What is also disappointing to hear is people blaming the voters for being sexist, racist and uneducated because they didn’t vote for the Democrats, if that is how the narrative plays out, the Democrats will be in the long grass for years.

This is a gross oversimplification, and fails to understand how Americans across cultural divides think.

Many Americans who identify to the right believe that women are less safe with democrats, since they are softer on crime and criminals in general. Many low-income groups with records of low education are "natural democrats", especially those in big cities or from certain demographics.

Your assertion sounds like the typical lament of a Californian humanities student, but the picture in the US is a lot more nuanced.

So you consider Elon Musk a lesser man than who?

From Wall Street to Silicon Valley, a growing number of billionaires, tech titans and venture capitalists are backing Donald Trump’s campaign for president, among them Stephen Schwarzman, chairman of Blackstone, the world’s largest private-equity fund, Steve Wynn, the casino tycoon, Bill Ackman, the hedge fund manager, and Marc Andreessen, a leading venture capitalist.

I again suggest your comments are either uneducated or simply childish.

It’s based on data, no need to get so upset . I am taking about better educated, so yes, more democrat voters will have a higher education qualification than the average Trump voters. The demographic of voters is very important when you are studying why people vote in a certain way , it was the same with Brexit , really interesting

There are a couple of other factors in these conversations:

(1) Implication. "Uneducated" people vote for x, therefore x is stupid. Generally followed by a protest of, "I didn't say that!". No, but it was implied. Or one is in denial as to what was meant.

(2) Correlation and causation. People who have been to university, with student debt, for example, might be more attracted to a party that promises to eradicate student debt. Those in white collar jobs (university educated) might benefit more from policies that benefit large cities. Those who benefit most from overseas labour might prefer parties with more relaxed immigration policies. When understood with the implications above, the relevance of education levels becomes more subject to question.

Where did I say anyone was ‘a lesser man’ , I am

Using data and demographics, I should clarify that it’s not all voters but the average trump voter is less well educated than the average democrat voter, doesn’t mean they are less intelligent, just less educated

I still disagree, the majority of oil workers I have worked with are all Republican as are the companies they work for.

I suspect that you are just using data that you have no idea is factual or not.

And what do you call "educated"? Someone with a degree?

Because the number of degree qualified engineers we get out here on the rigs without working experience is unbelievable and a waste of our time

Again I call your comments utter nonsense

It’s based on data, no need to get so upset . I am taking about better educated, so yes, more democrat voters will have a higher education qualification than the average Trump voters. The demographic of voters is very important when you are studying why people vote in a certain way , it was the same with Brexit , really interesting

Upset.... quite the opposite, I've had 2 direct messages from females agreeing with me and thinking your comments are ridiculous, so you have actually opened the door for nice private communication with 2 lovely ladies.

So carry on with your crazy comments "

Have you really? 2 females, what a coincidence, I have had a message from 3 females agreeing with me , amazing how this works

"

What is also disappointing to hear is people blaming the voters for being sexist, racist and uneducated because they didn’t vote for the Democrats, if that is how the narrative plays out, the Democrats will be in the long grass for years.

----------------------------

That may be the case but most racists, sexist and uneducated voters will have picked Trump, he targeted them with crass rhetoric. here ya go proves my point some ppl can’t conceive a world in which there’s ppl who don’t think the same as them lol"

-------------------

Indeed, I'm not even sure what point you're making.

That’s a bit unfair, trump voters are not uneducated , just less educated than democrat voters "

----------------------

I didn't say they were.

I said most uneducated voters will fall for Trump, he knows it, which is why he got away with flip-flopping his campaign messages.

"Either way I think it sends a message to the very liberal people to stop the woke agenda "

Why are you thinking that only "very liberal" people have an agenda to be aware of social injustice, especially racism?

You want an American who sexually abuses women to be president of the UK?

Some bizarre things on here. This is up there.

The UK have just rejected all this anti woke nonsense, and blaming everything on immigrants at the last election . You can’t win election in the UK blaming everything you don’t like or understand on the ‘woke ‘

Labour winning weren't a landslide in most seats that they won were very marginal. In fact the vote share that Keir Starmer won on was lower then Jeremy Corbyn got back in 2019 so what does that say

Why do you say that? I don't think he has the same self proclaimed affection for buh-lack men as Trump does.

Border of London

"most uneducated voters will fall for Trump"

"Fall for"

...to be tricked into believing something that is not true:

He told me he owned a mansion in Spain and I fell for it.

It might be true that one needs to be naive to support a politician. It might be true that Trump need a particular kind of naivety. But this is true across the board in the US, surely. All the university education in the US didn't help the cream of the Democratic establishment to secure a victory, in what should've been an easy win for them.

Ultimately, it's statements like the above that energise "the deplored" and "the uneducated" to say "fuck you" and vote against them.

Donald Trump thanks you.
