" The manifesto pledges are unaffordable and unobtainable, and everyone knows it " This could be easily attributed to Boris and his 40 new hospitals,HS2 and levelling up the North similar pledges in 2019.. Actually literally every single government in my adult lifetime thus far..

"I wonder who would win if they held a general election tomorrow. Lib Dems maybe." The people would win in my opinion, I’m confident labour wouldn’t take it, however it would be the lowest turnout in history is my gut feel. Many labour supporters have the same aura as a remorseful Brexit supporter, now the penny has dropped.

"I'm not sure why anyone would put any trust in this government, they are departmentally out of sync and generally out of their depth, Reeves is front and centre in that space. I'm also finding their progress and decision making to be flawed already, I liken their progress to a tv series that shows a short but fast paced recap to get the viewer up to speed, in case they missed something. They don't have coherent plans, they have fragmented ideas that don't come together with any sense of continuity and fold under scrutiny. We should be concerned right now, the longterm outlook is not great in my opinion." I don’t disagree (based on current optics) but what makes you say that with so much certainty?

The party is a shambles they, are not joined up at all beside defending gifts and parroting "we inherited a 22 billion blackhole. Individual interviews Starmer, Reeves, Rayner, Streeting, Reynolds and Phillips have taken part in are very telling in how fractious it must be behind closed doors. I can see many red flags, such as the promise of no more austerity measures for public services, that worries me greatly. Austerity is a very negative word that the left wing used time and time again to paint a narrative, much like now. However, the word was used to capture fiscal responsibility, and it was in place to support the country from the impact of the 2008 financial crisis. If he has used the term no more austerity for public sector and he means it, we are going to be in for a period of great pain, for very little return. If has used it as a phrase he knows will get people excited as it indicates removing a tory policy, he is being disingenuous! Austerity was wound down, albeit slowly after 2010 and was actually removed during and post covid. As I have said there are many red flags.
