pensioners are going to help him out. If you have saved for you’re retirement you better start giving it all back

" well hope he as got a big big money tree in his garden seems he bent the fruth a bit doring the election proving once again there all the same"

Starmer based his proposals on the figures produced by the Conservative Government. They claim those figures are wrong. The OBR agrees that there is a massive black hole.

the independent OBR have confirmed that crucial data was hiden from them by the previous government. they have now been in posession of the full dataset since last week and can now confirm that jeremy hunt's budget on top of kwasi kwartengs budget has caused a 'blackhole' in the public accounts exceeding 22 billion. the OBR has stated that this figure will most likely increase when they have had a chance to scrutinise the figures fully.

So the first thing Rachel reeves does after giving over inflation pay raises is to hit pensioners by removing the winter fuel allowance payments good one so come the winter when they cannot afford to put there heating on and end up in hospital filling the beds what will she do then blame the tori’s again

Pensioners will be freezing this Winter to pay for generous public sector pay awards. Then when they get sick, they won't be able to get to see a Doctor.

Quite a start by them really. Attacking pensioners who tried to do the right thing which took them just outside the credits thread hold and cancelling building projects straight after saying they will get Britain building again.

'attacking pensioners' is just alarmist rhetoric. from what i have read and saw in the details of reeve's speech is that they are means testing a welfare benefit ... which does seem to be what tory voters have traditional demanded from a fiscally responsible government. also, the majority of infrastructure projects haven't been cancelled at all. they've been put on hold so the OBR can, in the light of the data that jeremy hunt et al hid from scrutiny, investigate as to wether they are affordable/value for money. this again seems to be what tory voters have traditional demanded from a fiscally responsible government.

She hasn't removed it. The over 80s and those claiming pension credit will still get it.

I have to say it's not a popular move in this house because we're no longer entitled to it.

It’s a sign of labour to come they will take from anybody who has managed to save for their retirement and give it to those who haven’t. The difference between working hard and saving Vs relying on the state all your life will be minimal with this lot

We understand why they've done it though.

We're grateful that we were able to make, albeit small, private provision for our retirement but hope it's not eroded too much.

Probably the same as the ones who didn't.

To be fair, one good thing about this lot is they aren't pretending to fix problems. That Bobby Stockholm barge and the Rwanda scheme being shut down are a good thing. They were just dodgey deals for mates.

NHS still needs better attention though. Some of the lowest paid staff, like the nurse bank, aren't even getting pay increases.
