Kyiv’s Okhmatdyt hospital, the main treatment centre in the country for children with cancer, has taken a direct missile hit. The strike was part of one of the heaviest attacks on the capital since Russia’s February 2022 invasion

Reported that at least 29 killed.

The strike largely destroyed the hospital’s toxicology ward. Hundreds of rescue workers and volunteers joined the effort to clear the debris and search for survivors. Officials and emergency staff said it was not immediately clear how many doctors and patients remained trapped under the rubble.

No UN peacekeepers, no NATO aircraft, not enough air defence, and half of weapons pledged have arrived late.

For all the allies chest beating support, two and a half years on and little progress on adequate military supplies for Ukraine.

I can't imagine Ukraine going through another winter at war with Russia.

Ukraine is now in a very poor position.

Absolutely disgusting given hospitals are supposed to be off limits for targeting. Attacking this and power infrastructure is clearly designed to try and terrorise the civilian population and grind down the will to fight back.

"I can't imagine Ukraine going through another winter at war with Russia.

Ukraine is now in a very poor position. "

Blinken:

“The Ukraine strategy that we’ve had and that we’ve been acting on individually and collectively now for nearly two and a half years is showing effective results – effective results in making sure that Ukraine can ward off Russian aggression, and it’s done that remarkably”

Secretary Antony J. Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a Joint Press Availability

That is all well and good if we want to ignore the fact that Russian troops have taken a lot of land now, and sadly they will run out of people they can send to fight, even if they’re taking them by force from the street.

This winter will be the end of it and if it isn’t it is going to be a very hard winter for Ukrainians

Putin is a horrid, evil little man, who will hopefully one day pay for his crimes. Bombing a children’s hospital is totally unforgivable.

Don't hold your breath. Blair and Bush didn't see any punishment for bombing a Iraqi maternity hospital.

Straight out of Russia's military playbook. Nil regard for Rules of Engagement, and routinely dropped barrel bombs on hospitals in Syria.

'Whataboutism' will be of no consolation to those kids and parents in the Ukrainian hospital.

Nato filled their pants on 24 February 2022

Inadequate weapon supplies to Ukraine. Empty promises of future nato membership, lots of handshakes but not much else.

No aircraft supplied. Biggest collective military power on the globe and its members with the best equipment in the biggest quantity.

70,000 tonnes of bombs turned up to destroy Gaza within a couple of weeks, 2 million refugees left homeless.

Where are the defensive and offensive weapons for Ukraine.

Nato in name only.

Their own conscripts with little training, those fleeing shot, dead and injured left on the battlefield.

World watching on doing very little.

Russia is struggle to get components for advanced missiles so are resorting to dumb glide bombs that are no way near as accurate. Their response of 'only attacking military targets' is typical of them. To Russians any civilian population centre is a valid military target.

I doubt any words is a consolation for bereaving parents. Though I doubt those parents read these forums. So don't see what point your making.

My reply was to previous writer hoping to see Putin face justice.

My point was leaders rarely see justice for any war crimes committed. Unless your a tinpot African dictator who has fallen out of favour or use.

It was an X-101 ballistic missile. It has to be targeted and it is deadly accurate.

This was the Russian response to Ukraine successfully striking a military ammunition storage facility and destroying billions of dollars worth of missiles and artillery ammunition.

I’m glad we all agree bombing hospitals is bad, or is it just Russia bombing hospitals that is bad?
