When we in the West, drew up your borders and then set you up with perfectly functioning dictatorships.. we expected a little better!

The agreement by us was that we make up countries .. some of o which were sensible decisions.. in return. We get your oil.

We didn't expect all the drama that our actions created!

We help Iraq fight Iran, then help Iran fight Isis, and now we help murder Gazans while trying to feed them at the same time, houthis firing at our ships and so we bomb them and say it's nothing to do with Gaza when the houthis say it is,?! while we prop up the antagonist Isreal the west supplies with money and weapons.. double standards with international law? Lies and cover ups,. And now a fucking war somehow is in the making between Iran and Isreal?.. Oh come-on middle East?..Petrol is £1.40 a litre in my nearest petrol station! Why can't you thoughtless people think of the west?

FFS middle East.. get your act together.

Definitely, and just because the UK and US organised a coup in Iran in 1953 to remove a democratically elected leader that was very forward thinking but had the nerve to propose nationalising the oil industry instead of the Anglo-Iranian oil company (now part of BP) funneling all the profits to the west and installed a puppet for western interests in charge (which is likely one of the major factors in the rise of antiwest sentiment and radical islam) doesn't mean they should be so skeptical of us and uninterested in our perfectly fine control of your region.

We're the good guys after all because we won the big wars that occured in our region. Why can't you let the US and Europe call the shots anymore?

Exactly! This is lost on 90% of people banging on about the middle East!

It's so obvious what's going on!

It's so forgotten on everyone banging on about Iran! Iran became the bad guy in the early 1900's for refusing to continue to honour the already terrible terms of the Anglo Persian Oil Company agreement after APOC capitulated at almost every level in seeking ways to thwart those agreements and pay already low dues.

It's utter greed and entitlement.

Agreed. Like I'm definitely not a fan of the current regime (have a friend from there who's an apostate who'll probably be killed if he ever goes home) but people don't recognise that the current world is built on what happened in history, and without so much external interference for strategic gain and control of resources, the middle east would be so different to what it is now. It was developing fairly well on its own and many states even had social issues progressing at a fairly equal pace to European and other western counterparts until it became increasingly destabilised by foreign powers. Definitely despise radical islam, but that got its footing mostly due to the instability and growing anti west sentiment that was definitely warranted.

It's also so hypocritical to condemn Iran for actions that the other corrupt theocratic state Saudi Arabia gets away with so easily because that's a state that does what the western interests want it to do for the most part. Brutal actions seem perfectly fine as long as they're committed by authoritarian figures and governments (or even western sponsored militant groups) that help keep the western ruled world going on as normal.
