Another Brexit benefit

Ah well, that’s alright then.

Certainly not been artificially high since June 2016.

It was about €1.30 before the referendum.

Still hasn't recovered.

Is that good or bad news? Who does “recovery” help or hinder?

Depends on your import/export ratio.

We need a strong currency.

There used to be a chap on here who posted regularly celebrating micro currency changes by eating lobster. You two would have got on well.

Côte d'Azur & Great Yarmouth

Where? How (pm me if you wish)?

I transfer ten grand a month from my UK bank to my french one, the last transfers after commissions, charges etc. netted me

€11 568.00, €11 318.00 and last week €11 387.00. A little bit higher this week, and today suggests €11 427.00.

But nowhere near your rate!

We don't "need" a strong currency. Germany benefited massively by joining the Euro because the doutschmark was a very strong currency and hampered German car sales.

Currency movements are simply a case of swings and roundabouts. I cannot see too many UK exporters wanting the pound to rise nor would anyone bringing income from abroad into the UK.
