Wheelie Bins

When wheelie bins are used to smuggle sub standard meet into the UK (obviously not any more post Brexit as the customs officials recognise wheelie bins for what they are now and check every wheelie bin as it passes through border control for sub standard meat), do the smugglers use wheelie bins that originated in the EU or do the wheelie bins originate within the UK?

If they originate in the EU, could this not be an issue with people going on to using them domestically and mixing up good old British stock with foreign wheelie bins (which are probably sub standard and perhaps even a different colour) ?

If they originated in the UK and are in fact British (with all the usual stamps of approval to show the quality of British made wheelie bins). Were they snuggled out of the UK into the EU to be filled with sub standard meat?

If so, obviously some foreign chappy has got his dirty mitts on some British stock and smuggled it out of the country only to return with the same bins filled with sub standard meat!

God forbid!

Thankfully, Brexit has put a stop to all of that and, in future, British born and bred wheelie bins should stay in Britain and not go waltzing across to lands where Brits would prefer not to have anything to do with.

As for foreign wheelie bins (!) - let's hope that our eagle eyed border control elite can now spot them a mile off (given their new freedom post Brexit) and stop Onion Johnny or any other nasty foreigner from trying to sneak those wheelie bins into Britain.

Those bins that have made it through prior to Brexit (going by the posts on here, there must be millions of them as this snuggling could have been going on for years) - send them to Rwanda on the next plane.

Also humorous - sorry, no, this is absolutely NOT funny, I’m not laughing and nor should you:

When my daughter was about 12, she and her mates pushed a wheelie bin to a neighbour’s front door, rang the bell then hid. When the old woman who lived there came out and opened it, there was, of course, one of the gang inside who jumped up like a jack-in-the-box and screamed “BOO!”.

Could have had disastrous consequences...

There is a legal difference between snuggled and smuggled.

The op is clear that these bins were snuggled in the UK.. That is obviously because we are a nation of wheelie bin lovers.

Smuggled wheelie bins in the UK are a nuisance, and should be stopped at source.
