Bendy buses went through a phase similar when they first came out..

Glitches in tech isn't a new thing..

Long as everyone is safe..

"Seems 2 have caught fire in that there London ..."

One electric bus, and one hybrid bus, from different manufacturers. Sounds more like a coincidence than a systemic problem.

"2 more in 2022 as well ... according to the interweb "

So let’s put that 2 into a bit of context…

From TFL’s own figures

As of March 2023…… 8643 London buses in total of which:

950 are Electric vehicles

20 are hydrogen vehicles

3835 are hybrid vehicles (including 997 new routemasters)

And we are talking about 2……….

Okay!!!!!

No such figures exist, because no one thought it was an important thing to record before now.

But a quick Google will provide you with plenty of news stories of diesel buses catching fire. Here's a couple of London examples: https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1719438/London-Baker-Street-bus-fire-latest-pictures-video https://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/kingston-bus-fire-see-london-12262350.amp

Add that to the hertz recall. It's not looking great fkr electric. Doesn't seem they're safe or an appetite for them

Have a job for diesel to catch fire, can stand in a puddle of it whilst smoking a fag ...

Obviously lorries, buses have caught fire, but that's normally down to electric fault. Plus fairly easy to put out too

So your first paragraph says that it doesn't happen, and your second paragraph says that it does. Good debating skills.

Not all fires involving buses and lorries are fairly easy to put out by any stretch..

Too many factors involving both and other factors relating to both will affect how the incident goes..

Anyone attending such who assumes the shout will be 'fairly easy' is failing in their respective role and running the risk of fucking up big time..

It's fairly easy compared to an an elecric bus fire ... ask any fire operative which one they would rather do

I don't need to, I know it's not fairly easy whatever the difference is..
