What's the point in having a far superior navy if you're not going to sink their boats and down their drones? Simple

"What's the point in having a far superior navy if you're not going to sink their boats and down their drones? Simple "

As the $1m cost for a missile far exceeds the cost of $100k drone - it's not sustainable though I don't see what the end game is.

Are UK/US going to bring lasting peace to the mid east by quelling Houthi aggression. I doubt that's going to happen any time soon. The only way would be on the the ground or taking those out supplying drones, Iran.

Just read that under Operation Prosperity Guardian, there's a dozen countries in the Red sea in attempt to repel attacks on vessels. I wonder if they'll get involved.

Good to see the UK playing its usual role as US lapdog.

Peacemaker Biden strikes again. Let’s hope he can hold off that crazy warmonger Trump in 2024.

What role are the global giants in the EU playing in this? Looks like they are sitting it out again and leaving it to Puny Britain.

There are European countries that took part in this as part of the logistics side of the operation … namely Germany and the Netherlands

And what did they do?

Germany put its name to a statement. And Netherlands provided “non operational support”.

In other words they were the only two countries actually prepared to add their names to Biden’s press release.

Exactly.

Irrespective of the merits of this action, why is it always us?

You do realise that “non operational support can mean anything… from on the ground intelligence, maybe using countries spy planes and satellites to confirm intelligence, refuelling ect ect….

The us and uk had ships out there, the us has an air base in Bahrain, the uk has one in Cyprus

Idris Elba had that covered last week.

If we keep our noses out. It means protectionism - a reduction of global trade and an increase of national interests as there'll be fewer exports.

If there's intervention it's effectively superpowers against mountain men with countries with close allegiances becoming involved.

I can't see how this wont be a protected war, they'll never destroy all their arm dumps or their suppliers. Missiles will still be shot at passing freight as a result. There are no intermediary countries to act as neutral in negotiation so I can't see this ending soon.

The Shipping traffic is reduced by 90% thanks to the US-UK escalation. They have just turned what was A Yemeni blockage of Ships destined to genocidal illegal Israel to blocking 40% of international shipping.

The Yemenis didn't kill or injure any person and didn't destroy any property. But in last night attacks the UK and US stained their hands with Yemeni blood and declaration of an all out war. Congrats. And just as they underestimated Hamas capabilities to fight back, they're underestim

1- Hamas don't have paymasters. They're fighting for the survival and freedom of their people and land occupied by traditional western colonial powers since 1948. There are about 15 million Palestinians tody. 70% of them are refugees since 1948-67-73 not allowed to return to their stollen homes and lands.

2- Even Israeli Media (which is more independent than western Media) are demonstrating that most of the civilian casualties on the 7th October were caused by the Israeli Army's indiscriminate bombing of both Hamas armed attackers and the Israeli civilians in the Kabuts and the _estival. Both planes and Takers were ordered to destroy the houses and moving cars in the area and the pictured scale of the damage can not possibly be done by hand held arms.

"Crazy idea here...

Why don't we fix the root cause

The US and UK enforce a two state solution on Isreal. Who for years have flagrently violated international law.

And hand over land illegally occupied by isreal.

Nah.. crazy idea.. let's support Isreal doing what the fuck it likes ... Why?

Because it's US and UKs project in hypocrisy

You do realise that in other to enforce anything on another country would require a show of force right?

It’s in the word.

Just like we can enforce a ceasefire and peace deal with Russia, we can’t do it with Israel either

Unless you support the UK going to war with Israel to enforce that

Depends how you view international law

It’s not how you view anything

You can’t force a country to do anything without the use of force

That’s why “international law” hasn’t stopped Russia’s invasion on Ukrainian

If your talking about Russia then yep.

If your talking a put Isreal and Gaza then under international law, Isreal is violating Gaza by illegal land grabbing and ignores international law, because somehow.. Isreal is above international law and not subject to sanctions when Russia is.

You’re still not understanding that international law can’t force a country to do something.

Sanctions yes. And Israel can continue through sanctions, just like Russia is.

If you want to force something, then you need to support the UK using its military to make it happen. And I don’t think you support a UK Israel war really, you just don’t understand what you mean when you say “enforce”"

Isreal is too dependent on the USA etc.. for military actions and in this case genocide.

By sanctioning Isreal by restricting supply of weapons until they hand back illegally occupied.

But that won't happen.

Everyone including _otme66 deems to support a war against Iran.

Only problem is how many UK troops should be put at risk to defend Isreal's right to hold onto illegally occupied lands

"The Shipping traffic is reduced by 90% thanks to the US-UK escalation.

The houthis have been launching drones and missiles indiscriminately at both Israel and then international shipping post the military response to the Hamas butchers actions of 7th October, because their paymasters in Tehran said so..

It's only the actions of the US and our ships in the region that have prevented loss of life and or an environmental catastrophe and lady luck when some have got through..

Not sure waiting till they kill people is acceptable..

Both planes and Takers were ordered to destroy the houses and moving cars in the area and the pictured scale of the damage can not possibly be done by hand held arms."

I said, quite clearly the houthis paymasters are Iran..

The rest of what you've posted in 2 is confusing..

Are you actually saying that Israel used it's air force and tanks upon it's own people on the 7th of October?

Not sure why you're trying to divert the attention to Iran. It's not Iran doing the 76 year long occupation and slow ethnic cleansing. It's a Western parasite army installed in the region by western support, with western weapons. This like the invasion of Iraq. All the talk was about the non existing relationship of Saddam with Ben Laden, non existence of Mass Destruction weapons while the accusers have 1000's of nuclear heads and actually used them to kill half milion civilians ect.

I can go to some length to explain but I have a feeling I will be wasting my time. Look into Iran over the last few years and see what that brings up

You got something to say or just giving me a home work? LoL and where should I learn about Iran's behaviour? From those who told us Iraq has Atomic Bombs and did 9/11 in partnership with Ben Laden? Lol

"True, but why must the UK be US's lapdog every time? What about all the EU? Ireland benefit from free sailing lanes in the Red Sea yet bay not a brass tack to NATO defences.

It helps on the world stage, not afraid to retaliate and has the kit to do it.

I mentioned somewhere else that Venezuela will be looking on.

Goliath thought the same

I will ask you the same questions I asked another poster.

How deep are Iran in orchestrating this mess and why?

What would be the quickest way to turn this around?

Not sure why you're trying to divert the attention to Iran. It's not Iran doing the 76 year long occupation and slow ethnic cleansing. It's a Western parasite army installed in the region by western support, with western weapons. This like the invasion of Iraq. All the talk was about the non existing relationship of Saddam with Ben Laden, non existence of Mass Destruction weapons while the accusers have 1000's of nuclear heads and actually used them to kill half milion civilians ect.

That is something you should look into if you are asking why I’m bringing Iran into this.

I can go to some length to explain but I have a feeling I will be wasting my time. Look into Iran over the last few years and see what that brings up

I don’t wish to appear rude, so will leave it there.

While Iran has denied involvement in the Hamas attacks on Israel, its backing of a regional 'axis of resistance' means it will have a major influence on whether the conflict spreads.

For Iran, destabilizing the region and creating a favorable environment for insurgency have been long-standing goals.

This instability creates an environment conducive to the spread of Iran’s radical ideologies, perpetuating terrorism within the region.

Iran has a well-established history of employing proxy warfare, whereby it supports non-state actors in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Gaza.

Thwarting Iran’s indirect exploitation of the situation via its proxy groups in the Middle East remains of utmost importance. Fostering unity among regional Arab allies, who should view the threat from Iran as a common adversary, is crucial. By adopting a united front, the US and regional Arab partners can present a stronger, more unified opposition to Iran, thereby diminishing its influence and anticipated aggressive behavior.

Hamas decides to orchestrate attacks

the quickest way to turn this around?

with minimal casualties : get Isreal to leave illegally occupied land.

Re start talks with hamas to revive their offer of a truce if Isreal did that (something Isreal rejected some years ago.

Other alternative : huge fucking war including British casualties to defend Isreal's criminal occupation

Or

Continue the same crap that's never worked in 50 years.

I Agree. USA stopping treating Arabs like chattel would be a good start and stop meddling with Arab countries.

We've got an Iran the way it is today thanks to meddling and toppling it's democratically elected government for American influence.. in 1953 that backfired.

Thanks USA for giving us the Iran we have today! Well done

This is not about Oct 7th. It is far bigger than that and goes back thousands of years of regional conflict.

It will never stop here either. It will eventually arrive on your doorstep as its an ideology intrinsic at the heart and teaching of Islam.

Imaging that.

If Iran had not had sanctions placed upon it. It would have been the biggest nuclear threat to the world if the US hadn't intervened.

Yeah that upset the Iranians..

Off the top of my head, the Iranians denied the accusations of trying to build a nuclear weapon.

The reason they have was that it's forbidden under Islamic law.. according to them anyway.

But I suspect trump wanted an excuse to reimpose sanctions on Iran, and went for that reason

Why? Destabilise Iran and meddle in its internal affairs as in 1953.. hoping for an uprising.

I wonder how many people living in Iran would like the freedoms you have, saying what you think without fear, not having to wear coverings out in public for fear of being killed by the morality police.

I could go on but I will be wasting my time as you see nothing at all wrong from your western ivory tower....

Iran has always been the problem. Its a broblem for much of the middle east with very opposed islamic groups with different ideologies. Its been a big problem for the west with its nuclear program and again witb its islamic teachings of fatwa and that of retaking any land that they, islamic believers have controlled, then the teaching that all infadels are to be removed and their lands controlled.

You cannot ignore this teaching in the koran which is being pushed predominantly by Iranian Imams to their puppet groups, doing their dirty work for them.

I've said this before in a previous post that the answer is not looking backwords and arguing you did this, they did this or they did that. There has to be a line drawn and work forward, but this will never happen as us humans are too caught up with our own rights and needing retribution for things done to us or others. The issue with retribution and recourse is it NEVER satisfies everyone and therefore leave a trail of mess behind.

Sanctions reimposed, British Marines capturing oil tankers on the way to Syria. Israel looking for closer relations with Saudi….. Iranian military planting devices on ships, US drone takes out Iranian general in Iraq ……tick tick

Well... Yep I agree there.

Which now begs the question, is it Israel and Hamas that are the problem?

They are always going to be a problem, but was there an outside influence that has more to gain by creating an unstable Middle East

Its been a big problem for the west with its nuclear program"

You mean the west that actually has 1000's of nuclear heads doesn't want a nation with juicy natural resources to have the same military detrants so they can keep taking it for free under threat and bullying? The same west that nuked Hiroshima, Nakazaki and the Marshall Islands? Ok

"and again witb its islamic teachings of fatwa" Haha Not every foreign terminology that you don't understand is evil and scary.

"and that of retaking any land that they, islamic believers have controlled" It's not them who are invading the west and taking lands, lives and natural resources, it's the other way around.

"then the teaching that all infadels are to be removed and their lands controlled."

Can you Quote such teaching from the Quran?

How deep are Iran in orchestrating this mess and why?

Iran didn't, but supplies fellow Muslims in a proxy conflict. Why!?

Isreal being seen as a Zionist regime planted there by the US to stir the shit in the region

Btw , whatever the reason e.g 7 October attacks (horrible)

Is no excuse for genocide wholly are in part by any country upon any group of people. That's universal .. not just isreal

I think you are still off understanding the power of Iran through their many proxy wars and their influence over western interests and populations, and ultimately why we are, where we are today.

Trump withdraws from JCPOA, start from there.

It would do you no harm to maybe read it yourself, but to save you time which im guessing as youre not that interested in doing you could do some research yourself.

So are you advocating it would be good to allow them or others who may not have as much accountability control access to make nuclear weapons?

I personally dont think two wrongs make a right and I wouldn't be happy advocating that anyone can build a nuclear weapon without very tight accountability control on its use and Iran's activities as a manipulator and controller of theses other groups would not give me confidence in having their hands on any.

They will invade. Sleeping cell groups are the way they have and will continue to work to their end goal.

Im not here to argue or really debate the rights and wrongs, just putting out some facts and ideas as to how and where this is potentially going as I see it. My take is that it's in no where near as simplistic as many think or would like to think it is. Very few understood that the Gaza issue is not just between Isreael and a certain group of Palastinians. It did not start in 1947/48. It's origins have nothing to do with the west involvements, they go back thousands of years and its all of their own created issues and beliefs.

They are however used by intentional misinformation for many just to feed the conflicts and to try to justify their own personal beliefs againsts one group or another. Ever heard of the saying, a little truth wrapped up in a lot of assumptions makes it all sound true?

For those who are genuinely interested and nit here to bang on their own 'hatreds'...

Worth looking up Sheikh Prof. Abdul Hadi Palazzi who is an Arab. He has authorization to teach both Koranic exegesis and Islamic law from the prestigious University of al-Azhar as-Sharif in Cairo. He shows clearly from the Koran that Israel are the legitimate heirs to this land.

When Arab nationalism was destroyed, this left a void, which was filled by Saudi Arabia and Wahhabism,

As for Jerusalem, although not mentioned by name in the Koran, Palazzi cites Islamic sources to prove that the city is the site of Solomon's Holy Temple.

You will find that today, official Palestinian Authority propaganda denies any connection of the Jews to Jerusalem.

Since the rise of Wahhabism in Saudi Arabia, some 300 years ago, Sunni scholars have written hundreds of books and issued thousands of fatwas declaring Wahhabism to be a heretical cult, refuting its mistakes and exposing its deviances.

Palazzi states that he views the dominance of Saudi Arabia and its Wahhabi heresy as the main problem facing the Islamic world today. He views Wahhabi as a "totalitarian cult that stands for terror, massacre of civilians and permanent war against Jews, Christians and non-Wahhabi Muslims.

In this, he is not alone among Muslim scholars. What distinguishes Palazzi is his views on Jews and the Land of Israel.

Palazzi believes that Israel exists by "divine right" and that the Koran clearly states (Sura 5:21) that God granted the Land of Israel to the Children of Israel and ordered them to settle there. In addition, it is predicted that before the end of days, God will bring the Children of Israel to retake possession of the Land, gathering them from the different countries and nations (Sura 17:104).

Oddly enough, Palazzi's reading of the Koran is backed up by, of all sources, Al Qaida.

And as anyone who doesnt like it typically just throws in another issue.

Where have I said, implied or defended genocide? I will not refute that genocide is wrong.

Not sure how adding the word "Alqaida" randomly at the end of your post will support your points. No Muslim in the world learn their religion from Alqaida.

The real Scholars of Al-Azhar and Saudi Arabia and every Subdued Muslim country today are in jail. And we're talking 1000's of them. Al-Azhar University now is administered by Puppets of the brutal Dictator Sissi, who is a puppet of America and Israel guilty of blockading Gaza from the Egyptian side just as much as Israel is. Anything said by these sold out Scholars is a laughed at by the oppressed Muslim populations who don't even have the right to march in support for Palestine.

As for the Quran, it doesn't say the children of Israel are the rightful owners of Jerusalem. It says The believers. And Jews are not Believers since they rejected the last Prophet according to the Quran. Solomon was a Muslim according to the Quran. Race is irrelevant. Also the Ashkenazy European Jews are as removed genetically from the children of Israel as the Chinese are removed from the Children of Nigeria. Palestinians are much closer genetically than any Jew alive today.

Well you may want to learn that Al Qaida (Waahhabi) does have a very strong teaching influence about Koran across the whole region we are discussing. The Al Qaida website recently carried an article entitled, "The Jews Are Unworthy of the Promised Land,” and comes to the conclusion that "the Jewish People have not lived up to its end of the bargain and therefore the covenant (as explain in the koran) is abrogated, giving Muslims the right to the Land", as you can see this plays well into the local narative. Hence my inclusion rightfully, or wrongfully in your mind.

Palazzi however believes that the covenant is still very much in force.

I'm not amazed he and many others have not been banned along with many others. Afterall their primary aim under the main concern of the Salafists is correcting the Islamic faith and purging from it heresies and practices alien to Islam.

This is reason so many were jailed as you mention. They are only discredited by Sissi. Strict Wahhabis believe that all those who don't practice their form of Islam are heathens and enemies, Im nit sure but assume Sissi is an extreme Waahhabi.

Critics say that Wahhabism's rigidity has led it to misinterpret and distort Islam, pointing to extremists such as Osama bin Laden and the Taliban.

A primary tension in the region which has been there before the west got involved.

Im interested as to what your comment is implying though? You obviously do not rate Palazzi as a credible scholar. Would you care to explain your reason why or was it just a dismissive statement to discredit him and my references of his findings?

It would also be good for you to supply sources to your flyaway statemets about the genetics, examples of comments by these oppressed muslims and source for you statement that Ashkenazy European Jews are as removed genetically from the children of Israel as the Chinese are removed from the Children of Nigeria. Those 3 for a start if you may.

"For those who are genuinely interested and nit here to bang on their own 'hatreds'...

Haha that's like saying: The source for Biblical Scholarship is the KKK. You're reducing a 1400 years of Scholarship to an armed group created in Afghanistan in the 1980's by the USA and Saudi Arabia to give Russia a headache. You have no clue about the subject.

Regarding your unheard of "Islamic Azhari Scholar" I already told you why he is unreliable. He is a puppet of a puppet of the USA. No wonder he will

"Good to see the UK playing its usual role as US lapdog.

You do realise that “non operational support can mean anything… from on the ground intelligence, maybe using countries spy planes and satellites to confirm intelligence, refuelling ect ect….

The us and uk had ships out there, the us has an air base in Bahrain, the uk has one in Cyprus

Any opportunity to have a dig, "

Totally agree mate.
