Flop 28

So it’s that time of year again when 70,000 people descend on Dubai by aeroplane to lecture the plebs about their carbon emissions.

Yes it’s COP28, the annual business meeting masquerading as virtue signalling where Big Government, Big Finance, Big Corporates and Big Green all get together to think up new ways of extracting more cash from the peasantry.

Meanwhile China continues to open a coal fired power station every couple of weeks, US oil production is at its highest ever, and global coal consumption has hit a new peak.

In the US, in news that will shock nobody aside from the government and gullible car manufacturers, 4,000 car dealers have written to clueless Biden to tell him that the plans for a transition to EV’s are unrealistic and consumers aren’t interested in buying them.

But for the global elite Net Zero is the new religion. There is no alternative. If the peasants end up starving in caves that’s probably for the best, as long as they don’t have to see it on the way to the airport and there is still someone to drive the limousine to the private jet and clean the pools.

couple, us we him her.

For those who didn't know, the Flintstones was actually a promotional demo for the car's of the future not a cartoon.

These are the car's we will all be owning (at a high premium obviously) once fossil fuels are expended and Evs are the massive flop that we all know they are going to be.

Yabba dabba doo !

This implies you think climate science is a scam and we shouldn't do anything about it.

This implies car dealers are concerned about their profits. Which is hardly news.

This indicates that you read lots of conspiracy theory websites.

China installed more solar panels than the rest of the world put together last year and beat that total by around September of this year.

According to many reports China's carbon peak is almost certainly next year. After that their carbon emission will be fallin year on year.

Now it is not going to fall quick enough to meet the 2030 targets with current policy but the old ' we can only do something when China does ' excuse has gone.

There has already been some progress on richer countries giving money to poorer countries to help them adapt which is a huge step and shouldn't be under estimated.

There is still a lot of work to do however to meet the work we will need to do.

Indeed.

You know, what with Rwanda reminding us of our obligations to the courts re immigrant deportation, and China no doubt shining a spotlight on our carbon emissions in a few years time, we are going to really realise just how far we have fallen on the world stage.

Oh well, all empires rise and fall eventually. How sad. Never mind.

You sound pleased with our country's demise?

Odd stance!
