Picking up the slack.

It seems the single market was holding many exporters of fruit and veg back.

Morocco has seen its blueberry exports over takes Spain to the uk.

I believe Morocco may have picked up a large share of tomatoes too.

This competition should help drive down prices of fruit and veg for uk consumers.

It's good news to have more suppliers. But it looks like most of the blueberry supply has been from non EU anyway.

Do you know what was stopping Morroco before (that wasn't stopping, or was less impactful) on others ?

It also looks like spain used to import then export... But they are importing less and Morrocco is going straight to consumer.

And as c 95pc of morroccan blueberry exports went to the EU I'm not sure what was the big issue is.

Remember the tomato shortage earlier this year and last?

Well that's because the UK put all is eggs in a Morocco shaped basket for fruit and veg.

Then when poor weather hit the Moroccans decided that rather than selling all their tomatoes to the UK...they sent them over the sea to Spain and into the single market where they could get a better price for them and sell to all of Europe.

Also Morocco was never in the Single market.

Honestly, you keep doing this to yourself. I'm not looking at your profile but if it's not there you need to add something about enjoying humiliation.

What competition, we used to get them from one source Spain we now get them from a different source Morocco. Its still only one source.

However it has to be pointed out since we went to Morocco the fruit flies infestation from their fruit has increased in the thousands.

So another brexit bonus, fruit coming from further away, adding to global warming for a more expensive price with added fruit flies.

Lucky lucky us.

Yes but Morocco aren't a part of the EU bogeyman.

However it has to be pointed out since we went to Morocco the fruit flies infestation from their fruit has increased in the thousands.

Foreign flies? We should spend millions sending them to Rwanda.
