So, Mr Starmer first appeared at Chatham House wearing a poppy during a speech.

Then he removes the poppy to make a speech about Islamophobia Awareness Month.

Why? Just trying to play to different sections of the electorate?

Because kier smarmer is no different to most other politicians, say and do watever he thinks will make people vote for him, luckily more and more people are starting to realise these people dont work for the people of this country, they work for special intrest groups and big buisness

I would say the entire system of parliamentary democracy in this country is not fit for the purpose of governing the country in the interests of the people who live here.

From what I read the march is on the Saturday. I have read that some are calling for 'non-silence' on the Sunday.

It was not so clear in what I read but even calling for non silence on remembrance Sunday could cause problems. I wonder if SKS will have his poppy back on or to scared of offending someone

If you like SKS you will see this as a sign of empathy with other groups and a willingness to respect their feelings.

If you dislikes SKS you will see this as being a u turn and playing to the crowd.

Bit of a non story. A cynic would say useful to have during the covid enquiry.

this isnt anything new its been this way for as long as i can remeber, thatchers gov was the same so was blairs and if smarmer gets in he will carry it on,its a exclusive club and we aint in it

Yup, it’s that time of year when everybody MUST wear a Poppy. Although our soldiers fought (and died) for freedom, that freedom evidently doesn’t extend to NOT wearing a Poppy.

Every TV presenter, newscaster etc. will be sporting one, any public figure who doesn’t will be castigated. And I guarantee that this year’s Royal Family will be in competition to see which of ‘em can wear the most (I think the record is five).

And people’s right not to wear a poppy should be respected. As should the right to wear a white poppy, or any combination.
