"The UK government intentionally prevents migrants from being processed and becoming legal citizens, so they are unable to work to support themselves. This means they have to be entirely supported by the state. Our government does this to help create negative sentiments towards migrants, as they believe it benefits them politically. Other countries do not do this, so it follows these countries need to spend less on migrants."

"The numbers are on the academic paper below https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/the-fiscal-impact-of-immigration-in-the-uk/" I don't see anything in that paper that supports the OP's conclusion, either I'm missimg it (in whch case you can highlight which figures are relevant) or the OP has used different data.

"Reports that England spends over 40% more per migrant than any other European Country yet we are also told that some are living in squalor. What is the truth here guys and what is going on. It's all over the news" I'll take your word for it Reports on the radio a couple of days ago - the uk spends billions more on roads/bridges and tunnles than when compared with some EU countries, mile for mile - I think france genrally builds a mile of rail track at at least 40% less than the uk. Therefore, small fish what you have posted in the schem of things What needs to happen to save money is, sTOP the tax cheats/tricks/perks and we'd save billions

Typical of left leaning voters doing more harm than good.

"Am I right in thinking that this money comes from our overseas aid budget?" I'm sure I have heard similar though not sure if they mean all the money comes from that budget or a proportion

"Am I right in thinking that this money comes from our overseas aid budget?" Yes. Money which used to go to other countries is now funnelled within the country to pay for hotels and other services. My theory is that the government and some vested interests love this idea and hence they wouldn't want to fix this.

Whenever there's a government scandal, sleaze, incompetence etc. Wait! Look at those immigrants in that boat over there.

It's all over the news" "Any other country" in the EU?? What sources as you stated "all over the media"? How was the spend calculated? Does that include the Ukrainians that are being attacked by Putin?? Many questions but no answers I guess. As I said earlier, we spend 20% more per mile of motorway when compared to France

"Well it is brexit after all. £330m extra per yr in food imports since leaving. So no doubt it costs us more https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/oct/01/uk-admits-extra-330m-a-year-charges-post-brexit-food-imports " awful reporting, that lands perfectly for those that want another headline of why Brexit is so bad. I’m not going to do homework for anyone who wants more detail, you need to do some ground work.

" Yes, that's right about a third of overseas aid budget is spent supporting asylum seekers in the UK, the bulk of which is paid to the accommodation providors However, the Govt is bringing in legislation to stop this The Newsagents did a podcast on this recently. Shall post link when I find it Am I right in thinking that this money comes from our overseas aid budget?" Our aid budget is a very small percent of gdp. The gdp is now lower due to Brexit. We fucked our selves

Shall post link when I find it Am I right in thinking that this money comes from our overseas aid budget?" it's semantics, but irr hmgbhavent looked at this in-uk spending and said, that's not right, let's stop it. Instead they wanted to bring in legislation about illegal entry if something, which would have meant they could no longer class hotel spend as foreign aid. Eg it's an indirect consequence of another law rather than a direct consequence of a law addressing this point.
