"Not a fan of Kuessenberg at all but I find this good to watch. Although a it's quite recent events being covered i had forgotten some of them. Also shows how poor the calibre some of the players involved are and just how low their standards are too. " Certainly shows ministers to be self serving rather than public serving.

I just watched last night's episode. Well presented but feeds to the current political bent (I am one of those who can identify as such) so done to be popular and sell the programme and Laura K. Certainly covered the majority of things that went wrong but glossed over things that went right (there were some successes after all). I enjoyed the programme and was shocked at how bad it protrayed the state of our political system. Perhaps Cummings had the right idea and it does need a complete clear out but we will never know - he certainly did not go about things the right way! Where does it leave us? Labour waiting in the wings to do what? Impossible to make "Britain Great Again" (whatever that means as when was it great? What era and why?) just by a change of government. Even policy changes will take a long time to bed in but perhaps we are already well on the way to full recovery after Brexit, COVID and Ukraine. At the end of the day, it is how you see it personally, how it is protrayed in the media and how politicians and statisticians skew the figures to suit their argument.

" It wasn't a representation of what went right that's why those bits were glossed over. The clue is in the title. It's also not about the govt vs Labour. The overriding sentiment in part 2 was Bojo's loyalty to his supporters (re erring ministers). Which comes across as "fuck the civil servants (unless they play by Bojo's rules)", and "jobs for the boys" = nepotism.

Thank you for explaining what I missed - best I cancel episode three as I doubt if I will understand that one either!

MP’s and ministers are generally self serving, they’re elected by us to make informed decisions on our behalf, not necessarily what they think we would want, what they think is right. That’s a lot of wiggle room for self serving.

As for Truss? We shall see.

"Worth a watch. I think we all knew the majority of politicians (and civil servants) didn't want Brexit and were caught with their knickers down, with no leave strategy. But some were right twats. Poor May." Forgive me for not reading all the posts but I don't give a toss whether politicians and civil servants wanted Brexit. The majority, albeit a small one, did wait it. I fail to see your point
