Nothing new about that. The trick is to make the bottom crimp of the tube so wide that it stops it sliding too much in the giant box.

Chocolate bars are now portions wide instead of 4 and 4 long instead of 6.

To be fair, the bar is the same overall size but it's a ploy to make you eat the entire bar in fewer sessions.

Correction. The bars are actually 3 X 5 portions. I have just noshed through two rows, i.e. six slabs before placing the rest out of reach!

75p compared to £2.65, still a no brainer.

"Shrinkflation has been happening since the day of dawn"

It hasn’t. It is a 20th century marketing innovation. Before mass production and packaging, everything was sold loose and by weight.

You know as well as I do that no one here was alive in the 19th century

So, it's been happening during every single one of our lifetimes. Wanna play the semantics game? You usually hate that

You said “been happening since the day of dawn” which I took as a “dawn of time” type comment. Just correcting that statement with some boring facts

"How are the greedy supermarkets getting away with it....."
. It would be interesting to know why you consider supermarkets to be greedy . They provide a fantastic service to the public and Tesco have a generous share save scheme for its employees. Compare the services provided by Tesco to that provided by barristers and solicitors who are simply out to line their own pockets

We can all benefit from Tesco by buying shares in them should we wish to participate in their success.

Don’t you mean the greedy product manufacturers? But they are probably under pressure from the geeedy supermarkets to do so.
