He not the most charismatic. However, he's grown up from a simple background,

gaining success very early on. This success though has him detached from the "common British person". He's not a politician unlike truss and Johnson, he's more a finance man... And should maybe stick to finance. But alas.

Absolutely no politicians are attractive. This has been scientifically proven.

Also, I want to read a newspaper front page that details in full, the dress and shoe choices of the male companions of senior female politicians, just like we get when the PM wives accompany them on trips. We got chapter and verse on Carrie Johnson's dress designers but we didn't get a sausage about Philip May's couture suits!

Cardboard Cameron. Turn him to the side and absolutely nothing was there.

He just had that stern 'sorry we must be cruel to be kind' look and a face like an angry babies bottom that attracted a lot of mothers apparently. And to the rest of his voters he just looked appropriately tough. He was just all hard-line Tory politics with a complete charisma lobotomy imo though.

Anything Gordon Brown once had was long exorcised by the demonic incantations of his long-time flatmate Tony Blair. Playing Venom albums in his sleep probably.

.

He gave us all that horrible new romantic bicycling through Cambridge "if I remember my Trollop" nonsense that eventually led to people accepting the new Eton brigade imo. It was just a turnaround from Thatchers 'no society' radicalism - a kind of low key Make Britain Great (ie Victorian) again. John Smith (RIP) would have certainly beaten Major (even Kinnock imo - people were sick of the Tories by that point) - the tragedy of the scandalously pre-sold Blairism was that it didn't *have* to happen at all.

To be honest I hate this political re-evaluation of Major as something good that we've been seeing over the past few years. He wasn't. If he was 'better' it's merely by comparison. I just hate that these fuckers always become elder statespeople too. It will happen to Truss. It happens to all of them.

I had high hopes for Sunak after the debacle that was the May-Johnson-Truss years. Sadly he has been underwhelming although, being fair, he inherited a shitshow. There is also a lack of legitimacy as he (nor Truss) has never been put to a vote by the general public.

There have also been some really bad optics around various things connected to the Sunaks. Greencard. Non-Dom. Wife’s businesses (no matter how little executive control) benefitting from Govt policy. Building a swimming pool during a cost of living crisis for most of the country. Wife’s family business continuing to trade in Russia when husband has instructed British businesses to stop.

Nothing illegal mind you. Just...poorly judged when you are the most important public servant in the UK.

The whole “everyman” attempt at rebranding was/is a joke (filling up the borrowed Kia with petrol lol). There’s even a post in this thread on his “humble beginnings” - I can assure you that being able to afford the fees for Winchester College means you are anything but humble.

I cannot work out whether he is supremely arrogant or narcissistic or if in fact he has some really very poor strategic advisors around him. He just seems to stumble from one issue to the next. He slams the media for looking into his wife’s affairs saying she should be left alone as a private individual but then wheels her out at the Tory party conference so she can give a speech basically saying “my hubby works very hard!” Awww didums! Don’t take the job if you can’t handle it!

I initially thought once Johnson and Truss were gone “at last we may have a return of the grown ups” but it just feels like a bad carry on film.

Time for the Conservatives to reinvent themselves and get some proper talent back in the driving seat.

All IMHO of course

"Has there evet been British pm with less chariama and as inconsequential as rishi? I just heard he is holding an emergency cobra meeting over todays events and thought. So what? "
. Probably better to concentrate on the positives. All MPs and Prime Ministers work extremely hard to do what they believe to be best for the country . For the last thirteen years we have been extremely lucky to have had some great PMs . David Cameron who gave us the referendum and as such proved himself to be a true believer in democracy. Teresa May , a vicars daughter who did her best to implement Brexit but was constantly obstructed by those who refuse to believe in democracy . At least she recognised the value of the DUP and raised their status. The election victory of Boris Johnson was a stunning success and ensured that democracy was ensured. Liz Truss was destined to be another great pm but sadly the narrow minded drove her from office. She put in place a plan to boost the economy. We have all missed out by her resignation .

Rishi Sunak has no sense of shame nor have those who contributed to the resignation of Boris Johnson . Sadly for now we have no option but to support Rishi , no rational person is going to elect a pm incapable of defining what a woman is. Kier Starmer has never worked in the private sector and as such has no experience of life in the real world. He also supported Jeremy Corbyn and is too frightened to tackle both the refugee and immigration crisis.

We should also recognise that the amounts paid out by the government to help the less well off in society are substantial. To some this is not enough despite the fact that is some cases those of benefits are better off than those in work .

The sense of entitement of some of those on benefit is frightening. Despite rent being paid and various other additional allowances for Children people still complain .
