Now they're starting to piss off the youngsters, the generation they claim to be trying to protect.

This is the second news item in a couple of days that I have seen / heard students standing up to adults who are clearly behaving worse than children. It is making me feel there is some hope that the younger generations are seeing through the radicals BS and interference.

Good on them

I never knew of any school kids that were determined to get to school. Most would have been happy to miss it altogether. Except the geeks of course..

I have no problem with demonstrable liars and cheats being milkshaked.

Protestors and marchers getting the same treatment is not a valid comparison.

Whaley Bridge,Nr Buxton,

If any just stop oil numbnuts(they are not protesters, they don't know how to) get injured they should put their money where their mouth is and only accept being taken to hospital in an electric ambulance that hasn't been charged on fossil fuel generated electricity.

Someone who’s paid Farage £50 to go on his Brexit match being milkshaked? Not ok.

I can understand them demonstrating against fossil fuel companies and impacts but I have lost all respect when they try to stop non fuel sports like snooker and cricket. Those idiots need to be punished hard and have their future job opportunities destroyed. They should f off to China where the real issues are

What an arrogant and patronising assumption.Yeah I haven't got a clue about what they are protesting about.Stopping fossil fuels perhaps, maybe the clue is in the name "just stop oil" that apparently I don't understand.Students, pensioners and people on benefits, none of them need to get to work or drive for work. Why don't they **** off to China and "protest" there.

They are alienating the General Public and coming across as a bunch of entitled, latte-drinking tree-huggers. They need to engage and explain their alternative model to oil - not just protest. We all know it is impractical to suddenly switch from oil - it's a hugely complicated switch that will take decades.

For those people it very well could be.

Everyone has different priorities and it's absolutely no one's business to tell any person what their priorities should be.

The sooner the left get that into their heads, the sooner people might start taking them seriously.

I can clearly see that some people prioritise pretty much anything and everything over tackling climate change. This is part of the problem.

In reference to climate protesters you said "The sooner the left get that into their heads, the sooner people might start taking them seriously".

Doesn't this imply that the "right" don't care, don't understand, or prioritise something trivial instead?

I did say that. We are specifically talking about JSO protestors, they are left-wing, let's not try to pretend they aren't.

As I said you're proving my point, people may prioritise something 'trivial' like a hospital appointment they been waiting months for, or an A Level exam, or those people living hand to mouth that now lost half a day's work.

But no, saving the environment, is so much more important to those people.

But no, saving the environment, is so much more important to those people."

Then we agree.

"Footage of a March getting milkshaked is now online.

Milk shaking was totally fine on here not so long ago right?

I have no problem with demonstrable liars and cheats being milkshaked.

Protestors and marchers getting the same treatment is not a valid comparison.

So it's OK if they're not on your side. Got it

Climate protesters are on everyone's side. Even the morons attacking them.

Oh yeah, they're on the side of the people they make late for school, work, appointments etc.

How niave of me to think they aren't.

Is being on time for school, work, appointments more important than tackling climate change and keeping the planet habitable?

For those people it very well could be.

Everyone has different priorities and it's absolutely no one's business to tell any person what their priorities should be.

The sooner the left get that into their heads, the sooner people might start taking them seriously.

Why is it only the left who might understand that tackling climate change and keeping the planet habitable is more important than not being late on one day?

Are you telling me that climate change protestors aren't left-wing?

Nope. I'm not commenting on the political leanings of the protestors.

I asked why you implied ...only the left who might understand that tackling climate change and keeping the planet habitable is more important than not being late on one day?

Just to be clear. You're saying people who don't want the planet to become uninhabitable through climate change are "vile scum". And yet those who don't understand climate change or don't care about it would be in some way heroic if they threw 3 week old milk over other people.

Amazing.

That's the power of the right wing media in action. Shifting blame away from the fossil fuels industry and onto protesters.

Seen this word “vile” being used a lot lately. Personally i would class people like Jimmy Saville or Fred & Rose West as “vile” not people who sit in roads and throw orange powder over things. I mean they are fucking annoying and are losing support of a lot of the public, but “vile” really

"They should have used 3 week old milk to shower the JSO morons with. Vile scum.

Seen this word “vile” being used a lot lately. Personally i would class people like Jimmy Saville or Fred & Rose West as “vile” not people who sit in roads and throw orange powder over things. I mean they are fucking annoying and are losing support of a lot of the public, but “vile” really

The consequences of their actions for some people are life threatening. So yes, I definitely think vile is appropriate.

"I see JSO are punching down on Pride now.

Is there no end to the depths of their vileness.

Whoops. That's another group of people turning against them. They're gonna wipe themselves out eventually

Giving Pride London 24 hours to respond to their demands

Beyond this time or not meeting these demands will mean we may or may not take action at this weekend’s events

Threats and demands, such a nice group of people

Taking on Pride is ballsy I must say, they will lose "

I can imagine the scene now, middle class white self entitled, a woken individuals named Rupert, Beatrix, Clementine and Rafe run into a crowd full of brightly coloured and very elaborately dressed individuals and throw orange paint in the air.

The crowd go wild with excitement and start dancing in the dust and simply carry on.

Meanwhile further up the road another set of hardened JSO vandals await, their aim is to walk slowly in the street bringing the march to a stand still. Well you fill in the rest, but I hope removing a size 14 stiletto from an arse is not freebie on the NHS

I truly hope that if they start the slow walk in front of a Pride walk, then the Pride procession goes right through them (not vehicles obviously, thought I'd better say that )

I didn't imply 'only the left understand' but you're proving my point. You can't seem to understand that other people may have different priorities.

Then we agree.

We definitely don't agree. Imagine thinking you know those people's priorities better than they do.

It's this attitude that is causing the backlash, it's gonna get worse, you can't say you weren't warned.

I agree that people prioritise other things over dealing with climate change.

Maybe we disagree that I don't think it's a good thing that people don't care enough about it.

You didn't say 'that people don't care enough'

You definitely said 'saving the environment' was more important than people not being able to eat because they lost work, exams and hospital appointments.

Your attitude towards this definitely is 'loony left' as you alluded to. If you don't want people to bash you then you need to start to look at certain subjects from 2 sides."

You're misquoting me there.

And sure. I'm open to listening to the 'let the planet die so I can get my kid to school on time' side of the arguments. But it's not the interesting point of discussion. What's interesting is how effective the media is. Just look how many people don't even discuss climate change. Yet cheer on people assaulting protestors. As an example.

They are the ones disrupting peoples lives without a care or concern other than their own selfish agenda. They care not if people miss hospital appointments for life saving treatment.

Yes, vile scum absolutely."

Are you talking about the fossil fuels industry? Kinda sounds like you're describing them perfectly."

You know exactly what I mean.

This is a painful subject for all the wrong reasons so I’m leaving it there.

For all the folk who think there are consequence free actions, I hope your lives aren’t impacted by someone else who chooses to do the wrong thing, even if it is for all the right reasons.

Taking on Pride is ballsy I must say, they will lose

I can imagine the scene now, middle class white self entitled, a woken individuals named Rupert, Beatrix, Clementine and Rafe run into a crowd full of brightly coloured and very elaborately dressed individuals and throw orange paint in the air.

The crowd go wild with excitement and start dancing in the dust and simply carry on.

Meanwhile further up the road another set of hardened JSO vandals await, their aim is to walk slowly in the street bringing the march to a stand still. Well you fill in the rest, but I hope removing a size 14 stiletto from an arse is not freebie on the NHS "

Some people would pay a lot of money to have a size 14 stilleto inserted in their arse! Nowt so queer as folk

It's the same on every thread when those two horrible trolls get involved.

Best to ignore them, then they'll possibly either go away or learn how to debate like human beings.

Life threatening?

Do you know anyone who’s missed critical cancer care because of these vile scum?

No, let me guess, you have ?

Thanks for your empathy.

Do you know anyone who has died because of JSO ?

Toy are disgusting.

Toy? Look, you have made a claim , I am trying to find out what happened

You are disgusting.

You need to learn that you have no idea what people are dealing with in their lives.

Your actions have consequences.

You don’t care.

You are disgusting.

It is going to be easier not to engage with him, I think

Agreed. Although, I do find it quite truly hilarious how these liberals struggle with empathy towards anything that doesn't suit them."

Awful attitudes, it is no wonder them and the handful of MP's are out in the long grass on their own

Specifically the 2 one here who have been involved in the conversation. I'm sure plenty of liberals are great people, just as there is no doubt from every political persuasion.

So in conclusion.

1. Ignore climate change.

2. Throw 3 week old milk at people who don't want to ignore climate change.

3. Get personal with randomers on a swingers forum who think the media is pushing people to concentrate on a handful of protestors instead of on climate change.

Crack on bashing anyone who doesn't take the line fed to them by the media. But it's not going to be that interesting if you hound out everyone who speaks up.

"So in conclusion.

1. Climate change is real

2. JSO are nothing but entitled wankers.

3. Call out randomers on a swinging forum who think climate change is more important than absolutely everything including working to feed your family, hospital appointments and children's exams.

You forgot to add..

4. Don’t engage in discussions about your views on climate change under the guise of being setup for personal attacks, whilst personally attacking the Pearson who asked for your view

100% you made that up.

Some jibes are fine. But in the last few months this forum has descended into a festival of personal attacks.

It's much more craic when people play the ball instead of the player.

Why are you crying about the very things you engage in?

Yes, you made something up and yes you get personal with others.

I'm not crying. I'm find it takes all the fun out of posting here when people get personal. Sure attack my posts, but far too often it just descends to insults.

When do I get personal? If I have, I apologise, but I attempt to attack the post, not the poster.

You know what I've noticed here, much more, recently, people saying things and then denying all knowledge.

You often don't attempt to attack a post, you resort to typical sarcasm, and flirt past thing by claiming 'we agree'

Okay so should we avoid eachother as well?

It seems impossible to discuss the topic.

I'm happy to discuss it. I'm also happy to play your tactics. I will continue to call you out and I will continue to support anyone who messes with JSO and their ridiculous tactics.

You can ignore me if you wish, its no skin off my nose.

Good point… cutting out detractors 1 by 1 until there is no resistance… I fell for the old Putin shuffle

If they took too reasonable debate and making themselves heard in a way that was not disruptive to people’s everyday lives, I think they would be further down the road in building support and being listened too

Far better way to say their piece than invading sports events and blocking roads. They are alienating the very people they need behind them. Unfortunately I can see these events turning violent which helps no one.

The prom is they don't realy have a clear message to the general population.

To me JSO means a hole new way of life ASAP as in no more oil or oil production or byproducts.

Would be going back 50 years or more.

I'm not so sure these criminals can.

They would be using a lot of electricity to power a rave and it would have gone on a long time.

It sort of smacks of double standards, but I was relieved to hear that their response was straight out of the middles class children's book, how to get what you want now, and what to do when it doesn't work.

They are going to double their efforts in disruption, if I could insert a gif of a child lying on the floor banging their feet and legs in temper, it would be fitting.

Life threatening?

Do you know anyone who’s missed critical cancer care because of these vile scum?

No, let me guess, you have ?

Thanks for your empathy.

Do you know anyone who has died because of JSO ?

Toy? Look, you have made a claim , I am trying to find out what happened

Daily Mail umm.

The whole thing reminds of the film "Don't look up" total denial be it man made or natural the world's heating up. This has been evident since the days of live aid. Climate changed ravaged East Africa but now it's happening in places the West care about. A few more heat waves in Europe in centres of commerce and the attitude and reality may meet.

There are many suppressed alternatives to fossil fuels that the oil companies own. In the 1980's I watched Tomorrow's world and they showed a car that ran on water it was a Ford. Given how we innovate where is that car?

There are also plenty of alternatives for packaging.

The most powerful thing government could do is release the patents for alternative fuels for engineers and scientists to innovate.
