Arise Sir Mogg

The Tory party is changing the landscape of the HoL's to ensure that their right wing Brexit politics will continue in their absence.

Having so many Prime Ministers over the last few years has been a Godsend for them (in some ways) allowing all their stooges and cronies to be put in place to hinder future governments.

To think that Farage spoke of the unelected EU parliament...

The HoL's is already too big and tainted without adding more and to think, we still have to suffer Truss's list.

Rees Mogg is one of the most talented people in British politics today, and an excellent show on GB News.

A very well deserved knighthood.

What does a knighthood have to do with the House of Lords? No serving MP has been given a peerage

Oh I'm well aware that in the real world, people think JRM is a good politician.

What can you do but laugh!

I realise many don't approve of him but when I have seen him in discussion on the tv he is always calm and respectful. Let's others put their point of view without shouting down or interrupting constantly. It would be good if more Politicians of all persuasions acted with as much respect

That's his trick, he speaks eloquently, and appears respectful, when really he's fucking over the country for personal gain, and voting agains gay rights because an imaginary superhero is telling him to.

My comment is not about his politics, it's about his conduct. What ever his political views are irrelevant to what I'm commenting on. For whatever reason I feel some improvement in conduct across all parties would be a good thing

A great observation, he can debate unlike the majority who ego squabble.

You’re absolutely right speaking without a regional accent doesn’t make a person right or intelligent. However, calm and respectful dialogue allows a conversation to form and ideas to be considered, which was the point of the post you responded to… Your bias managed to influence your reply though

This is why he is successful, doesn't matter how horrendous a politician he is, as long as the way he speaks is calm and considered, people will vote for him.

You too are missing the point. It has been clearly stated regardless of political persuasion it would be a positive step to be more respectful in debate

I agree. Although I think there are more important things about a politician than the way they discuss and debate.

I was adding that a lot of people appear to disagree with me, and voted for Mogg.

Maybe those that voted for him actually liked the way he conducted himself enough to allow him a pass… if that’s the case lessons should be taken to level the playing field, not hard to listen and be considerate to others when talking

Exactly that

It's the way he conducts himself that I agree with without making any judgment on political views. Another example is a guy called Alan Johnson (think it's the right name) he was a well known Labour politician a while back and although I only saw him on TV often with Andrew Niel, he stood out for his calm and respectful attitude to others regardless of if he agreed or not.
