"Widely reported that a meeting/summit between Brexit and Remain politicians occurred to try and make this situation work. Now why has it taken almost 7 years to get us here for? Is it a good thing or is it considered a betrayal? Is being reasonable now too late?" I suspect the Brexiteers walking in looking sheepish and crestfallen. The Remainers walked in stood there and said "You won. Get over it" and then walked out.

"Surely, this can only be a good thing. More cross-party work is what's needed in this country." I hope it's the first step to a realistic look at the impacts of brexit, so we can start dealing with all the problems we're facing.

" Brexit is causing about 10% of the UK problems so yes worth discussion buts its not a cure all. Energy and productivity plus profit before service in sectors such as water are far bigger problems.

Where do you get 10% from? Whatever the percentage, I hope there is a pragmatic approach, we need to leave the "there is no downside to brexit" bollocks in the past.

"Whatever the percentage, I hope there is a pragmatic approach, we need to leave the "there is no downside to brexit" bollocks in the past." I'm not sure that anyone has ever suggested that there is no downside to Brexit. Yes there are some that only talk about things they consider positive, but surely no one denies that some of the changes are disadvantageous.

He’s also a lying scumbag happy to ignore the truth and scheme to portray a different reality in an Orwellian style. There will be no queues at Dover . Correct they moved them all inland and they were horrific and very costly to industry. Shhh keep it off the front pages . If we implemented import rules they can’t hide those queues which is why two years later they are nowhere near implementation . Business must be ready even though the government weren’t and without the government being ready business can’t be ready as they had no idea what to be ready for. He’s a slimy arse much like a lot of MPs .
