"Are you still an open-minded, rational, critical thinker who enjoys evaluating the political landscape? Or have you been ideologically groomed to see only friend or foe in politics? How can you tell? 1) Can you see the pros and the cons in all political arguments? 2) Do you feel conflated at times because all parties have some things that you like and some things that you don’t? 3) Are you able to admit a mistake and look back without anger or blame at how you made it? 4) Are you able to read media from across the political spectrum without being emotionally triggered? If you agree broadly with the above then you probably already know that you have not been politically groomed. However what about the following questions… 1) Do you find it difficult to even listen to politicians who you know that you dislike? 2) Do you feel comfortable supporting the cause of one party because you know that no other party has your interest at heart? 3) Do you feel that you have never made a mistake and that your political allegiances are now set in stone? 4) Do you choose the media that you read knowing that the wrong stuff will just make you cross and angry? If you broadly agree with the above, then like it or not you have been, or are well on the way to being politically groomed and you have been set free in the absolute knowledge that going forwards you will self-perpetuate your condition by consuming all of the correct media and effectively confirmation biasing your condition on a day to day basis. Just remember, if you see the political landscape as being solely either friend or foe then you are living proof that the propaganda concepts conceived in the 1920’s and 1930’s are even more effective in todays digital world," No But would still like to see proportional representation so every vote counts. As it is is a two horse race. I'd like to see a hung parliament again and I think it could be..

"I just think 98% of politicians end up being corrupt and in it for themselves " What material have you studied in order to come to that opinion? Hansard is good reference material - is it on your read list?

The various contract during covid to their friends and receiving extortionate amounts of money consulting for them. We had to abide by the covid rules but many MPs seemed to ignore them.

"I keep checking back here to see the flood of people that suddenly realised that they have been politically groomed, but no, apparently we're all super open-minded, rational, critical thinkers. Yay us!" You certainly haven't indulged in any self contemplation whatsoever. So that's consistent

"Emotionally I am drawn to the party that wants to make peoples lives better and believes in society. It became clear after the Tories shift to the right under Boris’s opportunist leadership and his removal of the experienced and traditional centrist Tories that they had become something monstrous and corrupt and I hate them for it. The last twelve years have made me feel more angry and politicised and impotent than I have since I was a teenager and it’s all because I feel fucked over by those corrupt cunts. I don’t know if you would call it being politically groomed because I don’t have a great deal of love for a few of the Labour politicians but I know a charlatan and a crook when I see one and these bastards have been in power for too long and are just taking the piss out of us all now" A lot of this I'm pretty much part left part right. I'm not centrist. There's things on the left that I believe should be fought for tooth and claw (right to protest, pro choice (men and women) and complete and unwavering support for the NHS (I think anyone trying to dismantle the NHS should be shot and hung from the nearest lamp post) On the right, I believe in strong immigration laws and that economic migrants should be thrown out, that meritocracy is the best way to judge competence and not quota's to meet diversity etc However, regardless of left or right I'm more libertarian that authoritarian. I think unchecked government power is anathema to individuals freedom so they must be limited to what they can do Looking around, it's a mess everywhere

I watch politics everyday, I watch it now as if I don't I don't have a say, or knowledge. I view many political platforms and remember my history as history often repeats itself. The rise of social media, is no different of the "bloke in the pub said.. so and so" its just reaching many more people, in less time provoking more outrage, fear and division. I like your post its shows thinking out of the box and relates to others thinking and asks a question which doesn't dictate. I couldn't say at this time that I am open minded, as people are suffering and I care for those who care for others, I would say I am militant not happy with things, even though I am not greatly affected, I will still fight for those who feel they have no voice. As ken brockmen say "that's my two pence"

I still consider myself a right of centre liberal but currently find myself more comfortable voting for parties left of centre than any of the current offering to the right of it.

I’ve actually voted tory in the past, and I didn’t have a lot of time for Corbyn, but I’m fucking furious at the piss taking crooks we now have in charge. I’m also incredulous that everyone else isn’t equally furious. The French would have been rioting by now. We’re so subservient in this country, still bred to kowtow to anyone in a suit with a posh accent. As for politically groomed - it happening to all of us, all the time. Amplified by social media. Best thing I think would be to ben political parties and make every MP independent. Parties only cause division, tribalism and corruption.
