" Margaret Beckett led the Labour party following John Smith's death. She's a woman and was in charge... Does not having a female / ethnic leader in the past mean that they're not a credible alternative? Lets vote Lib Dems then because they have. You could argue that Tory female leaders have in their own ways been terrible. Thatcher was one of the most hated prime ministers ever and I am fairly confident that those affected the most now by the cost of living crisis would have despised her. May was next to useless but still much better Truss. Labour do have strong women in the party in key positions. Sunak is many times richer than BoJo, and despite me having never voted Tory, I think he's far more clued up and sensitive to the current situation for millions than BoJo ever was. So, point is, I don't think that the fact Labour has never had a female leader or that Starmer is wealthy is a reason to say that they're not much of an alternative. Starmer is very clued up on what the world is actually like for many people... | |||

If he became a Millionnaire by being born to working class parents and working his way up to becoming the top lawyer in England and running a Crown Prosecution Service so successfully that he got Knighted for his work…. " He is clearly clever, you would hope so after the £thousands his parents spent sending him to Winchester! He must be numerate which would help him working in a hedge fund.
