It’s a risk reward thing the uk has decided that the earthquakes it caused isn’t worth the extra gas

The industry must be regretting that they ever dreamed up the word in the first place.

It sounds horribly destructive. If they had come and asked me first, I would have suggested 'Stored energy release'.

'Fracking' is an own goal on a par with calling yourself 'the labour party' and expecting people to be enthusiastic supporters of having to work hard.

It wasn't and never was viable , the geology of GB is just not suitable for fracking, the Truss announcement was just a political gesture , now reversed and should now be buried along with a few other items of carbon .

Until they get the fingers out their bottoms and start building viable, non dinosaur alternatives that should have started in 2006 when Tony Blair suggested more Nuclear.

House here tonight is 23 degrees without a single kwh of Grid Gas or Electricity input.

What is the frackable area of the USA per person compared to the frackable are per person in the UK?

I don't want our water tables fucked up permanently for an elephant's fart worth of gas. Look at the fracking companies websites and see how they gloss over their methods "water and chemicals" pumped under ground. What chemicals? "That's a trade secret", until you do your own digging via environmental agencies and the like, where they are forced to declare the "chemicals". You don't want those chemicals under the ground where they WILL leach out into water sources.

Sorry, calling bullshit on that unless you're using an alternative more expensive fuel than gas, or the outside temp has been over 18 for the last few days.

I could burn logs and coal but unless I cut down the local forest at night it's much more expensive than gas

I hope nobody 'calls bullshit' on my house achieving that sort of residual evening temperature after having the sun shine in for most of the day, nice and low on one side during the morning through windows and then, later on, via an attached conservatory from midday to sunset.

Not having to burm anything, including electricity. The few devices which run all day, like refrigerators, contribute to the warming of a house which loses very little heat in an upward direction.

I won't claim 23C at night but not far below, on average.

Same here but that's not the point in discussion, it's bottles gas, generators and solar panels and log burning central heating

At least gives some entertainment, however it's a little strange how every post I place, usually ends in a misinformed replies from the same user.

Rather than claiming I talk "bullshit", I'd be happy to explain if you were polite enough and asked how. But I don't have the inclination to waste my time with rude people.

I'd never claim someone's post as bullshit, I completely believe you as it does impact internal heat input from Solar exposure. Its known fact that South facing houses get heat Autumn and Spring from the lower sun.

House here never dropped below 21'C last night.

Lounge maintained 23.5'C until 3am due to the Plamsa Heater I watch TV on that releases 350w of heat into the room, none of the power it consumed came from the Grid and was 19.5'C this morning at 8am.

Two benefits of Plasma TVs, they heat the room and the picture beats any resolution LCD for movies.

Today is milder outside, windows have been open as got to 25 degrees. Nothing was burnt yesterdayor today, whether Wood, Diesel, Petrol, CH4 or C4H10 today or yesterday - all from electric.

Solar absorption or is it adsorption, is a valuable source of untapped heat - look up Solar Wall and see what Jaguar/ Land Rover have done with free thermal input.

The roofs on the extension and top used to warm internally but insulation and that both are now covered stops it, although it keeps the frost and snow off in winter.

I'm drinking my way through Magners cans to build a Solar Furnace heater but as I don't drink much, planning that for late 2024 when the 4p/kwh Gas and 19p/kwh Electricity contract ends.

I'd love a log burner but just not practical here. I have started cutting up a 47kg to turn into a log burner/ incinerator with internal coil to transfer heat bottom coil of hot water tank.
