Maggie must be turning in her grave

Poor old Maggie. She achieved so much from the total mess that Labour left us all those years ago.

She must have looked down at Boris' achievement in Dec 2019 with a huge majority and smiled.

Brexit done - hooray,

Covid dealt with and we were the leading nation to help the population get better and get back to normal. Hooray.

Then, OMG, total self destruction. What a mess. Boris gone, Liz Truss becoming PM (say no more) then she gets outed by her party.

Another PM and good luck to him, but what a mess of a huge majority. A snap election and Labour win is sure to follow.

Poor Maggie, she must be turning in her grave.

Nah Thatcher wouldn’t have allowed Johnson to carry her shopping. She would have seem what a useless waste of space he was and allowed him nowhere near her Cabinet.

Possibly, we'll never know.

Just as we won’t know re the OP. But I am pretty confident Thatcher would have eaten Johnson for breakfast.

Th Single Market was a British idea pursued energetically by Thatcher as she saw Britain benefitting from it.

She would hardly have cheered along the stupid lies that were told to leave something that was part of her legacy.

Yip. None of those nitwits would have gotten near Maggie's cabinet.

The Tories don't even vaguely resemble what existed in the 80's. They are all lightweight, treacherous globslists.

As for Sunak, he spent 2 years wrecking the economy now he can finish the country off. Useless articles. And we still haven't escaped the fourth Reich. (EU)

Actually if we are asking Maggie if she would be more proud of a Rich kid who went to Eton and became a really shitty journalist… or a poor kid who made it to Winchester and became a hedge fund manager at Goldman sachs

I think we know what the answer would be……

OP, I'm not sure if you are pulling our middle leg The Tories have been in power for 12 years and people like you still blaming Labour inc many of truss/Penny supporters lol

At least Rishi was brave and honest (a rare commodity in a politican) re taxes etc and Truss was offering tax cuts etc and even the dog up the road said that was wrong but don't take my word for it, just look who was in nuber 10 for a few days and now booted out on their rear

Yeah, but they never gave her a chance, did they. All those nasty left wing media and her back stabbing back bench MPs. She was the messiah who was going to lead us to the sunny side..

Poor kid is a bit of a stretch, but not inherited wealth.

I doubt she would have had a moment's time for BoJo though. She would have seen him for a lazy idiot. I may not agreed with some of her policies or methods, but there were never any of those in her circle.

She also created some messes.

Long-term structural unemployment.

Privatised utilities.

"No more society"

It's BoJo, Brexit and a dysfunctional Tory party that she would be livid about.

Imagine if when we were in and our GDP wasn't taking an annual 4% drop that we had a veto about certain things..

Oh yes we did, didn't we..

And I've got to be honest we've been part of NATO for longer than I can remember and in that time it's only helped our defence..

Being scared of something that might help us in times such as we live in now where we could benefit from the many areas of connectivity that might be necessary in the future is a positive for us as a nation with an ever decreasing military..

Maybe they didn't tell you, the UK didn't join the single currency.

They might not have told you either that the UK had a major input into whether there would be an "EU Army" and they might not have told you that the UK will probably still be a major part of an "EU Army" but with pretty much zero influence in how it works.

Sad how they lied (or just didn't tell anyone the real truth)

EU ambassadors have unanimously approved the UK’s APPLICATION to join the EU’s project on military mobility.

Oh dear! Brexiters won’t be happy!
