No fan of Trump whatsoever but... If Trump was still President, Putin would not have invaded Ukraine.

Trump was a wild card. A bat shit crazy cartoon who acted on impulse and his views and actions changed like the wind, depending on who he was talking to. The media and world leaders had no clue what he would say or do from one day to the next. This bat shit crazy unpredictability meant that many leaders and politicians would just do or say the minimum to ensure they don't rattle his cage and get a barage of death and fury tweets at 3am aimed at them.

Putin appeared to have Trump in his pocket at various press conferences but Trump also took policy actions that were anti Russia so Putin never felt in complete control of any situation imvolving Trump so his actions were limited throughout the 4 years.

Old, senile and diplomatic Biden comes in and Putin immediately feels like the Strong man again and has no fear of the actions of the supposed weak Biden. Thoughts?

It's the Saudis he is truly in bed with. He done nothing about the murder of the journalist Kashoggi. He received millions in payments from the Saudi government, he regularly had Saudi prince's staying at his hotels with large suspicious payments processed in the process. The new multi billion dollar Liv Golf tournament is having events and competitions held on Trumps golf courses... But of course no corruption to see here

True, I remember when he met Mohammed Bin Salman and his blatant arse kissing was nauseous

"Controversial opinion

I don't think that's an even slightly controversial opinion. Trump either looked like a strong leader, or a lunatic, depending which side of the fence you stood on. Neither of those options gives America's enemies a warm feeling.

Biden on the other hand looks like a doddery old fool, and doesn't dispel that image when he starts to speak. He doesn't inspire fear in his enemies, especially in comparison to Trump.

So yes, if Trump was still in power, Putin would still be conducting exercises on the border. Let's hope that the US doesn't see that as a reason to re-elect him.

Trump would have folded after Putin’s invasion and that would have been the end of Ukraine.

Do you really think so? Is there any other example of Trump folding under pressure?

He would have folded on Ukraine. He clearly had no respect for them two years ago when he threatened to reduce aid unless they came up with dirt on Biden and I doubt very much if he would have been the great supporter that Biden and the Democrats are being.

Doubtful he increased the defense budget and forced other nations to spend their gdp accordingly on defense. The military loves him. Biden not so.

I actually have to agree and I believe He would not have invaded if Trump was in charge because he is too unpredictable. Putin had this planned for a while and was just biding his time and picked a point when he thought the West would at its weakest and most divided.

I genuinely believe if Putin could go back in time he would not Invade Ukraine.

You only have to look at how North Korea responded to Trump, They have been at it all again since Biden was in charge as he is seen as weak.

He might not have liked Ukraine, but I'm certain he wouldn't have passed up the opportunity to look big and powerful when Putin started to gather the troops together. Do you really think that Trump would have just watched, and then done nothing as Putin invaded?

My thought is simple, let’s break it down.

Biden has Southern Irish roots. That’s why you don’t like him.

End communication.

Possibly thee most moronic and ignorant statements I've ever seen on this forum.

You have no idea who I am and what my views are. I have Northern Irish, Southern Irish, Catholic and Protestant friends and family in my life and am proud to be Irish. None of this would, in any way, shape my opinion on Joe fucking Biden.

Russia would have invaded Ukraine, the US would have done nothing because there would have been no benefit to Trump.

There would have been no sanctions on Russia and no military aid to Ukraine because there would have been a cost.

He was always predictable. Any activity was about his personal gain.

Yes.

Look at how the MAGA crowd are all pro-Russia, do you think he is really out of step with his followers? They blame “the west” and so called NATO expansionism and think that Russia has legitimate claims on Ukrainian territory.

Using the “I have friends” statement, hey?

Your environment not shaping your views?, hey?

I love it when someone says “you have no idea who I am or what my views are” well you clearly expressed them when you said “Joe fucking Biden” OP
