"Jeremy Hunt to make a statement on the medium term economic outlook from the treasury at 11am Good start him putting out the statement at 6am this morning, means the markets should be quiet this afternoon!!! So how many mini budget U turns will we see…. Also…. If trussonomics is dead, and the pm and former chancellor were tied to the hip…. What is the point of this pm!!! Gone by Xmas… she is such damaged goods it is now going to be death by a thousand cuts! " If the statement today does completely undo the mini-budget and markets react positively, why would Truss stick around at all? She will be humiliated in Parliament on Wednesday and that will only heap more shame and embarrassment on her and on the Conservative Party. I think that her demise is very imminent because she now has no purpose. I just also hope that people see through the mirage though and realise that she was just the figurehead of right-wing think tanks like the IEA and that there decades long vision of the the U.K. should be governed quite literally unravelled in a matter of days. | |||

I would think in her quieter moments she now actually wants to get away from politics as fast as she can. I suspect Truss viewed herself as Thatcher mk2 but forgot this is a different world. I doubt she will sit for long on the back benches after she leaves no 10. "It was obvious from the beginning that the woman isn't fit for the job and that her fiscal plan is cuckoo-cloud stuff especially in the middle of an energy crisis. Yet she got elected by a majority of tory members because of promised tax cuts or was there more sinister reason? Anyhow you've to ask yourself are the tory members fit for purpose if they so badly fail in their choice and in consequence tumbling the financial markets into turmoil and jeopardise the party's credibility etc. The mind boggles ... surely by now a flashing alarm light should come on if a politician strives to be a 2nd Churchill or Thatcher. " Yes, the shit show as been no surprise to anyone with common sense who as watched her speeches and interviews over the last few years since she has held positions in cabinet. She always came across like a robot who had been programmed with 3 phrases whenever she was asked awkward questions. As least Boris could bullshit and bluster his way through these moments. To me the only surprise was how quickly its sinking. I don't see any resemblance between her and Thatcher ( apart from gender ). Thatcher whether you agreed her with her or not. Was a figure of authority, decisiveness and demanded respect. Truss comes across as the exact opposite. I don't know why anyone who truly cared for her ( family or friends ) didn't try to stop her from running for the PM position. She was clearly out her depth. Maybe the Tory membership has been infiltrated by Labour supporters who wanted a laugh. | |||

I know Liz says she is against it but that hardly seems relevant anymore" Because he specifically said he would not announce or reverse anything that wasn’t already pending… I think with their still being a black hole even after the reversals that’s an easy place to grab some money without it being controversial… Well he has 2 weeks to decide… if truss hasn’t gone by then, that final u-turn would be the death nail! | |||
