Unexpectedly?..

The UK economy unexpectedly shrank in August, strengthening predictions that it will fall into a recession.

The UK economy is shot and has been for a while.

It's not really unexpected though is it? Higher prices, and escalating fuel costs mean people will spend less and eat out less to save money. That in turn means less spent in the economy overall. The no brainer solution would be to resolve the issue of high fuel.prices, rather than simply put a high cap on fuel.

Never understood why people eat out anyway. Mostly a waste of time and money getting food no better than can be cooked at home.

Buying lunch if you work in an office is even more stupid although people must do it as there was a drive to get them back to the office as town centre economies were suffering.

Love eating out. Love being looked after and tasting food that I do not have the skills to cook myself. I work hard and don’t want to always cook. Love meeting friends and family over a nice meal. Getting dressed up. Isn’t that one of the joys in life?
