It's history. It's a bit sad to most. But broadcasters still wearing black, every inch of the coffin move shown....

dare I ask.....

Are you fed up with our hearing about our ex monarch?

(not meant to be disrespectful, free speech etc but if against rules just remove....no need to ban!)

It's history that many of us will only see once in our lifetime.

The last state funeral was in 1965.

I dip in and out, some are addicted. All down to individual choice.

At least we know what it would be like to live in North Korea.

Wall to wall propaganda. Almost beatification of the 'great leader'.

No debate on TV about whether they should rule.

Immediate handover to the heir to avoid any questions.

Absolute crackdown on any dissent.

At least people can't now be still under the impression that our system is a democracy.

Curious just how much actual power people think the Monarch has/wields?

Probably because most are happy with the way things are, it’s a minority like yourself who want to change things to the way you want them to be

Not as numerous as royalists

I reckon most are indifferent. Fair few sycophants. Quite a few brown noses. Republicans just need to get it together or settle for a slimmed down monarchy.

I don't think it's disrespectful to raise the subject, and yes, I think it is becoming a little tiresome, but I think we should respect those that do want to follow every move of the coffin or every tribute to Her Majesty. There's plenty of other channels to watch and it won't be forever.

There are Millions of people unable to attend themselves and by having it all shown on TV gives them the chance to say thank you and goodbye.

As said above, you can always turn on a different channel and watch something else.

I pay a licence fee to the beeb. I expect them to show at least something other than an extended funeral.

As the state broadcaster, I expect the BBC to show the relevant amount of content, with regard to such an historical event.

I get that you don't like it but millions around the world do. You have the option to turn to another channel should you wish.

I'm not enamoured in some of the way that the BBC uses my licence fee but that's life. You can't please everyone all of the time.

"As said above, you can always turn on a different channel and watch something else."

It's a little different now to when Diana died. Back then there really was no escape. No streaming or internet. Radio stations, local and national only playing sad songs 24/7, all 5 channels only showing the news (C5 may have still shown topless darts in the evening), every newspaper was the same. At least this time you can avoid it if you want to.

The main thing that's annoyed me about the coverage the last week is the actual TV guide. Yes, I understand that schedules have changed at short notice. Masterchef, the football and Homes under the Hammer have all been paused for a legitimate (for most) reason. But TV companies, please update your fucking EPG! If you are currently showing Nicholas Witchell at least have the fucking decency to warn me. It happens all the time, not just this week. E.g. When the cricket is over in 3 days instead of 5 they still tell us we're watching day 4 and 5 live coverage when clearly we're not. If you change what's being broadcast then change the guide as well!

I'm not talking about my personal viewing habits.

But they are not showing enough of the other news like shootings by the met.

96 and a life of privilege. Gawd bless her.

"But they are not showing enough of the other news like shootings by the met."

This is another important point. There is more happening in the UK today than a very long queue of sad people in London.

There was a protest about the shooting on Saturday and Sky mixed them up with mourners for Auntie Liz.

I understand those who had met the Queen etc but getting emotional about the end of a long reign. . No. You can celebrate any legacy if that but its not sad.

My mum died in a care home with severe dementia having lost two daughters. My sisters obviously. All the authorities did for us was rob my dad for fees .

Not bitter but I have no tears left for any member of the royals

No offence meant by this statement but the Queen dying has been a blessing for Liz Truss and her new Government. The ultimate dead cat distraction from the shitshow that is really genuinely affecting people’s lives.

There was one. Scottish Scocialist and Republican. No longer a party, just a movement. But as soon as we break from the YUK there be several here.

2026:The queue to pay your respects now starts at Stoke

They were big in 2014 but have fallen away in more recent years.
