"A woman who will never be replaced "

Very true.

The most stabilising institution for the last 70 years is now gone and her personal ability to glue the nation together will be very much missed.

I fear, but suspect, that this moment will be seen as the catalyst for seismic changes that will likely now happen in the United Kingdom.

The next ten years or so will be “interesting.”

"A woman who will never be replaced "

She's already been replaced by her son, King Charles III.

That's how the monarchy works.

To be fair to her, she put in a remarkable shift. In many, many ways, it cannot be rivalled.

I'd have to say, her biggest genuine contribution - a properly positive impact - was her role in the NI peace process. She shook hands with Martin McGuinness and sat down to eat with him.

That's how remarkable she was - how forgiving she was. An example hardly any of us, including me, can even begin to approach.

She even had to suffer a weekly audience with Boris Johnson - a man who showed her nothing but contempt - for three years.

It may well be, that the thought of having to suffer more of the same utter nonsense, with Liz Truss, for at least two more years, is what finally drained her of her will to live.

I am not a monarchist - not by a long way - but she did her duty, for 70 years and caused very little harm doing it.

That, alone, deserves respect.

P.S. If you don't think she died at Balmoral out of choice, you're kidding yourself.

She was a good egg but I cant help wondering how pissed off Boris must be that he didn’t get to make the declaration of her passing and to pontificate about her majesty, especially given the pretty lacklustre effort our new PM put into her speech

Ah well, the world changes and a new dawn beckons….are those thunderclouds I can see on the horizon?

RIP your majesty

I can't help feeling that Her Majesty had a very strong will to live driven by the desire to see the end of the PM who lied to her. She did seem very happy to greet Liz Truss.

The country and the World will never be the same without her influence.
