It really depends on what you want I suppose. If you like somebody who is probably the most corrupt politician to ever hold office in the UK....go for it.

I don't personally find undermining democracy 'fun'...I find it all rather dangerous...

Hey at least he didnt start a war on a bunch of lies, but dont worry once the torys are out it will be labours chance to help there pals out, only difference between em is the torys favour a minority of the rich and labour favour a minority of the middle class, lived under both labour and tory and my life hasnt improved under either of them, my reason for not voting for them, not going to affect me favourably then no vote

Blair no better but at least he didnt literally rub in people's faces...Boris literally had no problem in showing people how stupid and gullible he thought they were....Owen Paterson???

So of you have never voted and believe no party has any bearing on your life....seems a massive waste of time following politics at all. Jeez, why you wasting your time on a politics forum at all??

The fun bit of Boris or clown antics he employs are just distraction techniques to steer everyone away from the self-pitying, narcissistic, amoral, liar that he is. Who should never have been "leading" the country.

A man who was sacked twice for lying in previous jobs and even lied to and deceived the Queen.

I guess that’s a funny way of calling him fun.

All those who put him there should be ashamed of themselves. It doesn't matter how much "fun" some of the delusional fools and supporters think he might be, politics is supposed to be a serious business and as such should be treated so, as it’s about running the country.

Not some kind of vapid and inane reality TV show.

Boring I know but I would rather have a competent person with a sense of personal and professional integrity as PM rather than a Fool and a Clown. Regardless of which side of the current mainstream political spectrum they are from.

So good riddance to Boris…..

He's funny when he's not ripping off British people and laughing about 1000s of people dying a day of covid.

Because Johnson was funny and edgy at times some people quite liked him, in the same way we all have that funny but embarrassing uncle at family parties, weddings and funerals.

But that doesn’t give him a pass in my book for being a lazy, corrupt, self-serving, incompetent slob who was unfit for the job. Good riddance to bad trash.

I will not miss him, I will miss the posts about him that contain insulting word after insulting word, after insulting word to describe their dislike of him. Sometimes they are very creative, others very bitter but I have learnt a few new words along the way

I heard someone on a radio phone in show a couple of weeks ago say that she loved Boris because he cheered her up and she didn't mind that he wasn't a very good leader because he was funny. I've heard similar before and I think it's quite worrying it's almost like cult of Boris.

I have voted in all the elections since I have been eligible but at the next GE I am in danger of joining the non voters. This does not sit well with me and am hoping a decent independent runs in my area. If the worst happens and I don't vote I do not see why that excludes myself or anyone else having an opinion and posting. I much prefer to vote but can see why some decide not to.

I believe I have read a post from you before where you said in the past you have voted for both the Conservatives and Labour. Is that right?

If so, what is it about both parties currently that means you are considering not voting?

Also, while FPTP may mean your vote doesn’t count, are there really no other parties you could vote for by way of protest or trying to send a message?

I spoil my vote when no party is close to my views. Not voting suggests apathy. Soiling suggests dissatisfaction. Or incompetence

This is correct I have voted for both in the past. I decided not to vote conservative while Boris was in charge and also posted this fact. It's due to the many issues that have been raised over his conduct. I am not overly impressed with Liz and worry she may be a Boris puppet. This may be harsh and a mistake on my part. I wait to be impressed. As also mentioned before I think Labour have improved but am waiting for some clear direction. They did commit to not joining the EU which I thought was important as at least we know now. I hope to be won over by them as they are by far the most likely alternative to win. I guess at present I am politically homeless

Politics for me is all about timing. Boris was deemed an intelligent character at the time and know we are obviously more informed.

If the unions hadn’t backed the wrong Miliband brother I feel things would have been different.

So thus the current choices between Dishi Prada wearing Rishi and Lizz lots of cuts Truss.

In an earlier comment most people that attain high office will have come from public school, Oxford/Cambridge and Banking/Legal sectors,

They usually update the tests before an election with the latest policies, from the election manifestos.

I guess the question is, if there is trust in the conservatives to carry out their policies.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I found him to be narcissistic, incompetent and a shameless liar. He does however, possess charisma and a certain charm which endears some voters.

Liz Truss has neither of those qualities. Her premiership will be massive train wreck. God save the UK!

"Hey at least he didnt start a war on a bunch of lies, but dont worry once the torys are out it will be labours chance to help there pals out, only difference between em is the torys favour a minority of the rich and labour favour a minority of the middle class, lived under both labour and tory and my life hasnt improved under either of them, my reason for not voting for them, not going to affect me favourably then no vote

This is correct I have voted for both in the past. I decided not to vote conservative while Boris was in charge and also posted this fact. It's due to the many issues that have been raised over his conduct. I am not overly impressed with Liz and worry she may be a Boris puppet. This may be harsh and a mistake on my part. I wait to be impressed. As also mentioned before I think Labour have improved but am waiting for some clear direction. They did commit to not joining the EU which I thought was important as at least we know now. I hope to be won over by them as they are by far the most likely alternative to win. I guess at present I am politically homeless

Before the next election, would you do one of those blind policy tests to see which party lines up to your views?

I know there is not too it than policy. There's the leader, your local MP etc.

I jumped the gun a bit and did one of these blind policy tests at random. Apparently I am right if centre / right wing and the conservatives are my natural party. Maybe it will change in the lead up to the next GE

They usually update the tests before an election with the latest policies, from the election manifestos.

I guess the question is, if there is trust in the conservatives to carry out their policies. "

Ok, that makes sense. I will do more closer to the time. I am not sure I trust any party to carry out their policies but hopefully they give a general indication of direction of travel

Barring some kind of massive overall of the Conservative party. We can probably guess it's more of the same.

Lib Dems will be wishy washy.

Labour are Tory lite, same shit, less nepotism and corruption (potentially).

Ukip etc: blame immigrants, stoke division.

Green: don't destroy the environment.

Reclaim: vote for us if you find Ukip too kind towards minorities.

The options are limited and uninspiring.
