Kwasi as chancellor doesn’t surprise me

They are talking about cleverly as foreign sec…

Coffey going to health, I will say she wasn’t a liability at work and pensions so it will be interesting to see how she does

Wallace staying at defence wouldn’t be a bad move as I think he hasn’t done badly there….

I'm looking forward to Braverman coming to grief upon the rock of asylum seekers. Patel became increasingly quiet as it became clear despite her best soundbites, they increased exponentially.

I was especially amused by the ire in the daily mail comments towards the RNLI. "I'll never contribute again", lol.

Normal people actually gave more money. The RNLI received more donations as a result of the race hate types getting outraged about brown people's lives being saved.

Wouldn't any MP who has any interests outside of politics potentially have a "conflict of interest"?

If the Health Secretary were a vascular surgeon would you demand that they resign due to a conflict of interests?

It's unlikely a serving health secretary would be able to maintain a financial benefit from being a surgeon.

It’s no surprise that she has purged all the Rishi supporters creating a near perfect echo chamber for herself.

Clearly she has not studied history or even read the book Team of Rivals. The book is a biographical portrait of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln and some of the men who served with him in his cabinet from 1861 to 1865. Three of his Cabinet members had previously run against Lincoln in the 1860. By doing this Lincoln was mostly successful in attempts to reconcile conflicting personalities and political factions within his party.

Barack Obama used it as a model for constructing his own cabinet by appointing Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

To quote Abraham Lincoln…..

“We need the strongest men of the party in the Cabinet. We needed to hold our own people together. I had looked the party over and concluded that these were the very strongest men. Then I had no right to deprive the country of their services.”

The current batch of Politicians would do well to learn from history.…..

Surrounding oneself with "yes" people is unwise, especially those who might feel a debt is owed (of loyalty, perhaps?) It will just become an echo chamber.

What a weird analogy, that doesn’t quite work.

The Health Secretary being a Vascular Surgeon would be a conflict of interest in what way? They would pass legislation or champion policy that means people have surgery that saves their life? How would they enrich themselves? How would they be open to lobbying influence?

I’m sure you are intelligent enough to not need explaining why JRM has a conflict of interest right?

I think she has picked them based on loyalty in support and whilst I agree somewhat being loyal and supportive of someone does not mean you are a "yes man".
