I feel sorry for conservatives

I mean just look at the leadership contest I believe that behind all the Truss and Sunak tribalism there is one universal truth to me.

It’s embarrassing having to watch this unfold the two candidates telling their supporters to essentially believe alternate realities and grand conspiracies.Rather than in my opinion the self implosion that has been proceeding since Mogg and his bootlickers overthrew May and blank rhetoric takes the place of any policy.

Whats everyones opinion of this?

or is the conservative party just simply suffering the fatigue of having been 12 years in power?

I feel sorry for true labour supporters. Not one of your present bunch is Labour and Starmer is too woke to be anything. Labour frankly is now unelectable

I think the point being lost here is, he simply isn't interesting. No matter how poor the conservatives have been, he can't make ground.

I was sure after all the scandals the conservatives would implode and labour would strike, but that is starting to become a distant memory.

Do I feel sorry for the (true) conservatives? No not one little bit. If they had a backbone they would have fought against the influence of the ERG and those pulling the party further to the right. They are all complicit in this embarrassing shambles.

As to the “woke” comment

You gotta love how being nice and respectful to/about people who are different to you is now considered to be a bad thing! When I was growing up it was just called good manners!

Labour have not needed to do anything recently. All they have to do is sit back and watch the Tories imploding. Then it's up to them to present an alternative, gain the votes and walk into downing street

I so hope you are right!

I can't see how any conservative voter is happy with the situation the party is in and the standard of leadership options. Of course, some will always vote Tory regardless but anyone else who would consider voting for them now need a long hard think about who they would be voting in. Anyone who think SKS is "just as bad" needs a wake up call.

. With a majority in excess of seventy seats and Liz Truss about to be elected Prime Minister I do not think any true Conservative wants or asks for any sympathy . With Liz Truss we have a winning ticket and a fantastic future . Now that we have left the EU we will start reaping the awards that only leaving can bring . Only this week the transport minister have said that he will relax the rules relating to driving LGV s under 7.5 tons . With so many new trade deals and the fact that we continue to trade with the EU , sympathy is not required , maybe an admiration of our success and that of the country would be good .

Most Conservatives are delighted with Li Truss . She must be good , she is already annoying all the right people .

So the Tories have us Trillions in debt an inflation rate that threatens to sink a large portion of the working classes. They got us out of our largest trading market and inflicted a serial liar on us as PM. Yet it is Labour who are unelectable? Wow what planet are You on ?

You gotta love how being nice and respectful to/about people who are different to you is now considered to be a bad thing! When I was growing up it was just called good manners!"

The issue is that the woke brigade are a very vocal but completely intolerant minority . They resort to vicious intimidation of people with whom they do not agree and make numerous efforts to cancel people . The tide is now turning against woke warriors . No one needs to know about someones private life - it is simply private .

Ok people are talking about cancelling people. Could one of you tell me a single person who has been successfully cancelled (no longer has a platform) who is both still alive and not been convicted or charged with a crime that lead to the cancelling?

I ask cos if they still have a platform they have not been cancelled, and it is my belief that what people actually mean by cancelled is facing the consequences of their own actions.

Conservatives have no culture,no music, no poetry, no artists. Nothing. All good creativity comes from the left. All of it. Of course in Scotland most of our creatives seek a normal nation state and to destroy the Union. Which will be our gift to England.

There are quite a lot of independent parties which hold seats in our parliament and there are safeguards in place to make sure they get a voice at elections. The complete opposite of your system.

The problem in my mind is our adoption of American style politics which revolve around two parties and FPTP which hinders small parties.

Barring the second world war we’ve had two coalition governments post current founding. One was the founding government.

What are these rewards that only leaving can bring?

What are these so many new trade deals?,Why do you put trading with the EU as some bonus?,it was always going to happen we would literally starve otherwise.
