My goodness what a sorry state of affairs.

Like a nicely packaged ready meal, the reality of the content is massively disappointing .

All credit to his pr machine, but this is the last thing we need at the moment

Thankfully he is not the favoured choice among the members and more importantly thanks to the 1922 it will come down to the members to choose

All the same, style over substance I think describes it quite well..

Like they were taken away to a cult after doing PPE at Uni and the real them is hidden in case they look like us..

And when they do trot out the old 'i was, I went to, I did this etc' in a totally stage managed manner it's all so utterly predictable and unconvincing..

. After what he did to Boris he does not deserve any votes . Boris had an eighty seat majority and Sunak choose to throw it all away . He is simply a traitor.

Let's hope Liz Truss puts him in his place and reverses Sunaks tax rises very quickly.

Raising Corporation Tax is hardly the way to attract investment.

Ok,

No way will the tories elect Sunak as PM, the party members always have a knack of voting in the most incompetent person in, so guess we will be having a Liz Truss premiership then.

Would I be right in thinking that after the elimination ballots say when we get down to three if two decide to withdraw from the contest then whoever is left would win unopposed. There by not going to party members to vote.If this scenario exists then this maybe Rishi best chance of winning

Notice the right wing media frothing at the mouth to push Liz . They know Rishi can’t be bought.

Headlines in Mail true to form. Fuck the reality of Liz will make us even poorer and just more of a laughing stock.

. Thanks for clearing that up.So basically it has to go down to two candidates and party members get the final vote.So there can be no dropping out to support someone else with the promise of a cabinet job if they win. It’s now a case of party members get the final choice

They still have the 80 seat majority. Nothing changes there just because Boris has gone.

Besides, do you really think that is all Rishi's fault? Did he bring down Boris on his own?

His poster says the following:

Restore trust - there's none to restore; not for the majority of UK voters.

Rebuild the economy - good luck with that; but how?

The latest growth figure for the UK economy is, in some part, related to an increase in GP visits?

Presumably, that's related to the 500,000 more people in England who have been prescribed anti-depressant drugs.

How can they be depressed, after three years of stellar government? With more to come - including the benefits of Brexit?

Finally, his poster says:

Reuinte the country.

If he means the UK by that - he's no more capable of it, nor cares if he does it, than Boris.

If he means England - which all Tories do when they say country - he has just as little chance.

Any unity the English might have had was shattered by Brexit - and nobody in the Tory Party is going to put the pieces back together again.

I don't think any other UK politicians could either - but only one of them isn't pretending it can be done.

Truss is just false Rishi sneaky but smart.

Mordant is very sinister. She wants the American system whereby if a local authority takes in less in rates or taxes then they spend less on local services. So a deprived area just gets worse. Think Chicago south side and that policy is the driver behind all that violence.

She also wants to protect bankers bonuses. Not tax the rich and cut funding on most public services.

She constantly voted for more surveillance and recording of communications made by the public. She wants to restrict trade union rights. She wants to reduce employment rights.

She is ERG through and through.

Anyone voting Tory who earns less than £150k a year must be mad.

The point here is - yes Tories do care about the country. Putting a leader in place who’s tax affairs and wife’s wealth will be a distraction. Definitely want a leader who can #GetOnWithTheJob

Tbh I don't recall a lot of MPs of any of the parties in the last 40 years who genuinely have, of course there are exceptions in that time..

And they are and have been vastly outnumbered by those who are hand in glove with business and who usually end up in a nicely rewarded non executive director role..

perhaps it's best to allow to conservative and unionist party to continue to very publically shred themselves. afterall it's only the party zealots who have a say in who will lead them which begs the question why devote so much time to televised forums when less than 0.25% of us have a voice in the process?

the process of assessing the merits of the conservative and unionists or lack thereof, can continue once their embarrassing freakshow has reached it's apogee, based on their ability to reverse the 12 years of catastrophic damage which they have caused.

What makes you say that Sunak has intentions to fix things?

The ERG said it would take 50 years to recover from brexit. And that was before the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and even more Tory disinterest in running the country.
