Well, it'll surprise nobody that it was unapologetic, delusional, lying drivel - blaming his misfortune on everyone but himself.

He's capable of nothing else.

Tbh, it was hilarious to watch him blame the conservative ‘herd’

Just another indicator of someone so out of touch with reality that he can't even acknowledge his own massive part in his downfall..

This is the kind of thing sociopathic, dare we say slightly psychopathic, narcissistics live for. He goes when he wants. Never when anyone else wants. And it is NEVER their fault. Others must be blamed.

This is, sadly, how these people work.

Went on about Ukraine again. As if by supporting them he went against the grain and public concesus rather just doing what every other western country did

I'm not a fan of Boris, but I can't think of a PM who has been apologetic on the resignation speech. I think it is part of the DNA of the type of person who wants to be PM.

I would love to hear how he broke the news to the queen, and what her response was! Hopefully something like:

"Oh, hello Boris! I have been waiting for your call, what took you so long?'

A non-resignation speech. Stand by for three months of President Johnson, trashing the joint and the country as they try to evict him.

I can’t see it, if he tries his ministers will just ignore him, he has no real power

The last lot were nodding dogs, most of them are still there loyal to the clown..

Not sure they will be much of a check on his ego, using the time to create havoc and influence the election for his successor..

Some of his cabinet have aspirations to be the next PM, they won’t take any notice of him

What Boris wrote about Gordon Brown in 2010. The irony.

" As I write these words, Gordon Brown is still holed up in Downing Street. He is like some illegal settler in the Sinai desert, lashing himself to the radiator, or like David Brent haunting The Office in that excruciating episode when he refuses to acknowledge that he has been sacked."

It was very salty….. the fact he couldn’t acknowledge why he had to go and blaming the herd was proof enough

Pretty sure he didn't even say he was resigning. And it's a v strange sort of resignation where he's still gonna be PM for months + he's allowed to pick a new cabinet.

Won't get his Knighthood or a seat in the Lords now.

Imo he's trying to anchor the story.

The herd bit

The dem da breaks bit

That's what we will remember. And so he's planting the seed of being unlucky and the party turning irrationally

And it's alligned to his audiance. On the way to work teh radio still had people claiming he could have been great but wasnt given the chance.

Hope you're right about that - but I have my doubts.

As for the "herd mentality", it's what got him elected in the first place, for him to complain about it now, is a bit rich.

The worst part of his speech was this:

"... getting us all through the pandemic ..."

To date, 181,000 UK citizens have died of Covid - tens of thousands of them prior to the introduction of the vaccines; which were fuck all to do with him, beyond him signing the cheques.

So, Boris, we didn't all make it through - even though you did.

Tens of thousands of those deaths are your responsibility, due to your initial failure to lock down too late.

BTW - Brexit - it's shrunk the UK economy by making trade with the EU more difficult. Not sure how that's a good thing - unless all those trade deals Liz Truss did have brought in more money than has been lost. Have they?

It’s funny isn’t it….sometimes you just want to slap the silly sods and make them look at what is really going on but they have no interest apart from the Westminster bubble! I mean how much money has that silly twat truss spent on flying around the world negotiating crap deals and taking photo opportunities? Probably more than her deals will be worth!
