UK spending money but not on UK citizens

The UK is struggling to survive and the government is taking from us but they can afford to start investing in orbital sustainability they have money to burn with NASA and SpaceX but not the UK citizens...

Without satellites, how do we introduce road charging and all the other communications we'll need as a stand alone Superpower.

We nearly lost a load of satellites sat on top of a rocket in Russia.

What choice we got. We can't take Russia on without our own GPS system.

OneWeb was the answer and it needs transport. UK builds the best satellites for the rest of the world, problem is that we can't fling em up without a 3rd party.

The idea that the EU should be required to keep us included in ANYthing is pretty funny. Considering we LEFT.

The EU not including us are the consequences of our own actions... Those who voted leave specifically.

(that's also assuming they kicked us out, which in this instance I don;t think is accurate)

Yup, not only did we walk away from Galileo, we walked away from the EU’s priority in its 2021-2027 budget to “5G” itself, for example the €1.3 billion for the Digital Europe Programme, the EU Coordinated Risk Assessment of the Cybersecurity of 5G networks, and the EU Toolbox on 5G Cybersecurity.

In our own Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Bill which “aims to improve cyber resilience and digital connectivity”, the government has said it wants 95% of the UK’s geographic landmass to have 4G coverage by 2025.

So once again we play “catch-up”
