Are we going to see a rise in houses destroyed by dodgy Gas meter and pipe modifications?

The one today, not yet investigated but the three around here in the last 12 months, and one in Dukinfield, another in Lancs over the last 3 years was interference.

Although accidental is possible, it is more than likely to turn out to be interference and sad that people die and loose everything when it goes wrong.

Even worse, when an innocent neighbours are hurt or killed.

If that's the case then this cost of living crisis needs to be addressed and yes very sad people have lost their lives for the sake of profit.

Last week I advised my provider that I was cancelling my DD and would ring them monthly and give them what I can afford for now.

Be careful with that one. I had a row with SP over them putting up Direct Debit for a family member with notice when her snnual consumption is falling due to historical estimated bills.

They advised me to "cancel Direct Debit and set up Stading Order", I asked for it in writing that doing so, incurred no penalty.

After checking with her manager, she came back and informed me it would be £120 per year more expensive by manual payment.

In the end, they relented and reduced DD lower than what it'd previously been.

Formal complaint has been lodged for this advice.

I will give that a go, theses providers cannot expect everyday people to pay what they do not have.

cheers

No, I don't know your situ, but British Gas (also for non customers) and councils have support funding available.

Might be worth approaching them.
