From what I can see, reputedly under Paragraph 16 of the Rwanda Deal - the UK has to take "Rwanda's most vulnerable refugees" and resettle them.... in the UK.

Fact or fiction?

Forgot to share the link to the UK govt website where it clearly states the above (paragraph 16)

Another thought - even though the UK may have agreed to take some of the most vulnerable refugees from Rwanda, it will not happen as the agreement was never supposed to be implemented as written and does not really apply to the UK who would, if there was any risk of it being applied, change what was written to suit the UK as UK law trumps international law (in the UK) and the UK is always right.

Phew - false alarm then.

According in reports, the first plane ‘load’ of refugees (if it happens) will be close to single figures

Birmingham

I hope the return flight is so overladen it comes down early and makes a safe emergency landing in the grounds of Nigel Farage's Kent home.

The UK is sending 7 asylum seekers to Rwanda today, and the plane will return with 68 asylum seekers from Rwanda.

At a cost of several £million

I doubt very much if BBC (or your Government) will be reporting this.

The overwhelming presence of Tories on here still have a massive collective boner for trafficking humans to and from Rwanda.

Job done as far as the government are concerned. Their supporters are happy with wasting millions.

Why do you assume only Conservative voters support this move after all wasn’t it the large backing of Labour voters that enabled the Brexit result ?

Just going by the people here. Fab has a huge, very vocal Tory majority. They support the government regardless of what the topic is, regardless how abhorrent it is. And they're loving this Rwanda one.

I have no idea if Labour supporting Brexit voters support wasting millions trafficking people to and from Rwanda or not.

I certainly don’t. I think it’s a typical Johnson bullshit idea, one that his arse licking cabinet felt the need to go along with.
