So, with planned closure and blowing up the remaining coal fired power stations this summer, the government at the last minute are writing to coal fired providers to delay decommissioning due the possibility of power shortages due to gas supply issues this coming winter.

That about to be decommissioned nuclear power stations that are having reports done to squeeze another 10 years out of them due to failures and delays to start building new ones.

Frickin amazing that after all the promises that gas and electricity supply are secure, that psyops are now being leaked to prepare us for power rationing.

It's unavoidable, yet another 6 months down the road, little mitigating, except begging coal fired producers and nuclear to keep going.

I am not sure coal and nuclear has the capacity to provide the 40% to 65% of the UK electricity demand that gas supplies daily.

Bring back Tony Blair, we need some more of that "Energy Security he promised us 15 years ago - all is forgiven. Then again, what did happen after that statement- Jack shit, apart from a few more windmills and lots more hidden micro gas power stations on various industrial estates.

Anyone seen any recommissioned gasometers back in operation and getting filled recently? I haven't, Miles Platting in Manchester had them took down to make way for Manchester City's ground years ago.
