They conduct polls in one of the following ways.
1. They sit there and make it up like 86.35% of all statistics - saves time and money.
2. The people who fund the poll tell them what they want it to say and they comply. Labour secretly funded the latest poll so Q.E.D.
3. They look to see who will take notice of the poll and skew the results to suit their audience. In this way their polls are perceived to be popular and more people will employ the company.
The above methods are obviously totally made up crap but if you ever don't like the outcome of a poll then you are welcome to use the explanation.  | |||

They've already had 12 years, 14 by the time of the next election. A divided party, led by someone most people now dislike, in a country where the NHS is on its knees, summer of discontent and the worst is yet to come. I just don't think it can continue. They've had a good run at it, 3 PMs in as many years and most people think it should be 4. Parties lose their grip on power eventually. People are sick of the tories and they've a good right to be. The cracks are starting to show and with what's coming, I don't think any PM recovers from this. The harm inflicted by partygate won't go away. And all it takes is 1 election to go pear-shaped for them and parties look a lot better in power than they do in opposition. I don't think people expected the tories to last as long as they did in 2010. Labour had been in power for over a decade and they couldn't even manage a majority. Once they were in they didn't look out of place and as sure as night follows day, the junior partners in a junior coalition got hammered in the next one. I think that's what we're looking at in 2024. The only thing stopping Labour from power is itself, if they can stop kicking lumps out of each other, it's theirs to lose. It's all on the manifesto really. The criticism of 'what do they stand for' goes away if they actually promise things which are transformative without appearing too radical. We've seen the SPD in Germany do well and 'Labor' in Australia win power after long periods in opposition. Labour can turn it around, the path is there. | |||
