This will all be a distant memory when the general election comes about and the media discover that Keir Starmer was a long lost relative of Jack the Ripper and Angela Rayner doesn't know what day the queens birthday is.

Mid term local elections tend to always be a spanking for the incumbent government of the day, whatever the colour. ‘‘Twas always the way and no doubt will always be.

Think it’d be rather silly to think that the Tories would do well here, they’ve had multiple howlers in the run up.

General Election will be different though. Think that’s not too far off in the distance.

Tories deserve it. The fiscally irresponsible decisions they have made... The way they've enriched their friends with government money, rules for the unwashed but not for themselves. The pandering to Labour positions. Why wouldn't they get shafted?

It’s the hope that kills you. Everytime.

Tbh I am not sure the political landscape has changed that much. Rather surprising though that the North did not have a stronger reaction to broken promises about levelling up, abandoned projects, blocked developments like the Leeds/Bradford airport etc etc . Perhaps people have given up and have become rather apathetic irrespective of which party they may support as they have lost their belief in whatever anyone says.

Or the Daily Heil are shocked to discover Angela Rayner’s underwear (that they were so obsessed with last week) is not made in Britain!

1,000,000,000%

People always get excited that the Tories reign of terror will come to an end with every sleaze, lie, scandal etc. It never makes a jot of difference.

They can't admit that brexit fucked the north even more.

The local election results for the tories will be like Brexit, they will see it as a good result because it isn’t as bad as ‘some ‘ people said it would be
