Fiat currency anyway spiralling out of control. Best thing to do is spend your money on valuable things and become as self reliant as possible

To be fair the Daily Mail understands how stupid, gullible and lazy minded their readers are and how to use them.. Smart in a sad way.

isn't it at 7pc now. And forecast to go even higher when the energy hikes flow through ?

Now while 10pc is a guess I'm not sure why this is propoganda. What's the "non BS" you have?

Kilkenny, but Dublin is more fun

Sure our whole concept of money and the economy is absurd currently.

It used to actually mean something since we started using it to simplify the bartering process, but with the explosion in size of the financial industry and the pure focus on that type of "economic growth" by our governments that saw minorities of folk and companies gaining levels of wealth that are pretty much unfathomable to the normal person, it's complete fantasy, especially with how it fluctuates so much due to speculation.

It was the head of the trade union congress. On the BBC, but nonetheless - most of her members are lower end of the wage spectrum I imagine.

She was speculating on what it might been sometime soon as not all the energy hikes have worth through supply chain inflation yet. I think 9 to 11% by year end is a ballpark. The one i’m hedging against anyway. Propaganda or not.

.

I survived the last recession by the skin of my teeth being self employed. I was the only person I know not to be made redundant between 2008 and 2012. I made provisions when things picked up. As soon as I could I borrowed money, I took risks, I invested in property. We now have enough in reserve to weather any storm. I made sure we were in a position to get through anything beyond our control (financially).

I left school in a recession (91) I hit a recession 18 years later. There is without a doubt another one coming. Sod all to do with politics they happen like clockwork. Never going to end boom and bust. This one was going to happen regardless of *insert someone or something to blame*..... Brexit, Boris, trump, Ukraine, covid, global warming, Greta, the nextdoors cat that keeps shiting in my back yard. It's simple economics. Hell yes it's going to be tough for us and everyone else too but we will get through it and learn to look after our own futures as inward facing as that sounds.
