Ukraine has changed the face of Europe. Cost of living has been affected by brexit, covid, Ukraine especially.

Cost of petrol and diesel is just a rip off by the suppliers, there is no shortage, they are making over 300 million pounds a day out of us, I read it somewhere.

Countries dependent on Ukrainian wheat are really struggling - and there are a lot of those.

Global shipping and logistics has been massively impacted due to COVID.

You can find any number of reasons for the cost of living crisis but the fact that is global should indicate to you that a single, country specific reason is unlikely to be the main driver of costs.

Well THIS Government could have chosen not to steal £billions from the treasury and give it to their friends, cronies, donors and family via corrupt PPE and other Covid related cash grabs under the guise of the emergency.

That would have meant the UK had a “war chest” allowing them to not have to increase taxes.

They could also protect taxpayers over shareholders by putting price caps or a windfall tax in place.

Remember all these price increases on everything means that VAT receipts are going to be far in excess of what was forecast - again meaning tax rises were not needed.

What do people say when all the evidence shows they have lost the argument and been proven to have made a mistake? They say “move on”

Be nice to see the ever decreasing number of ardent Leave supporters have the balls to admit they made a mistake.

That is simply NOT True, you an SNP plant!

German average gas bill alone is euro 1500 per annum and petrol rose this month to a high of euro 2.20 but has settled to euro 1.89.

Quite simply the EU are suffering as much as the UK and factually the UK GDP recovery has been quicker.

The fact of life is inflation is here for 3 or 4 years across the whole of Europe - get used to it and be grateful that it is not the 25 percent of the 70’s with 15.5 percent mortgages.

If you voted for democracy then I hate to break it to you but the EU is more democratic.

If you voted to stop immigrants how’s that working out? Those who do arrive now don’t have jobs but those before did.

If you voted to be better off.. Computer (ONS) say NO.

If you voted to avoid tax .. Fuck me you are indeed a winner all the way.

If you wanted trade with China , USA or indeed Australia they will all make the U.K. balance of payments worse as each new deal has proven so far. .

The bus now says £1.1B a week less money in the treasury.

No wonder the world us is looking at us and saying WTF!!!

Burn money. Literally.

Well, not literally, but that's the basic idea. The Bank of England takes money in, and then destroys it. Nowadays that just means zeroing out a few balances in a computer, but the basic idea is to remove the money from existence.

In very simple terms, if there's less money around, people will tighten their belts a bit. If everyone is doing that, there is pressure on all businesses to drop their prices.

It can print lots of money which encourages “speculative investment” into commodity, equities and real estate at the expense of innovation, infrastructure and capacity, This can exaggerate scarcities and either trigger or exacerbate inflationary pressures that are brewing.

It can also influence interest rates which can reduce demand for some things.

It can influence regulatory frameworks which impact predatory market behaviour which can unduly influence supply and demand.

Just to name a few options.

In a perfect storm of global demand spikes, supply and capacity constraints and geopolitical and climate disruption there’s not a lot it can do in other than cushion the blow a little and encourage. The market needs time to adjust. Belts to be tightened, wages to rise, prices to stabilise as demand and supply equilibrium nears.

Or in. The case of Boris and Sanuk - they’ll fk about, blow some hot air and hope nobody notices they don’t have a fling clue what to do. (Well they do really, they just won’t do it as it is not what their paid to do and won’t achieve the plans - so they will take the flack to be “incompetent”). Tis a nice charade.
