Minimumwage ?

Has any one else noticed govt ministers and spokes people no longer refer to to the minimum wage but keep using the term living wage which is actualy a higher amount

Probably because the minimum wage only applies to under 23 y/o where as the living wage refers to people over 23 y/o

Or is it that one is a legal requirement whilst the other is a guideline. They can spout about the guideline which makes better headlines but it has fl all impact on business.

Is it really a minimum wage or the default that removes competition as all bottom of the ladder jobs seem to pay more or less the same with very little variance.

your first paragraph sums up what i thought it seems to be the default term now the minimum wage is somewhat below the living wage
